My I-129F petition was sent on 04/14/07 to Texas, and I have not received NOA1 yet. The average NOA1 time is 10 days, accoding to the statistics on VJ. My money order was cashed on 04/26/07, but I did not get NOA1 yet. Do they usually cash checks and then send NOA1, or is it vise versa?

Todays only the 27th, it takes a while for the mail, if you know your ck/mo is cashed your doing ok.

sometimes the check is cashed before the NOA1 arrives and sometimes the NOA1 arrives first. Don't worry just yet!

I wouldn't worry yet...remember, in order for there to be an average of 10, there has to be some higher and some lower.. It's a long process, and you almost have to think in weeks rather than days.. - I suspect you'll here something before you know it...keep your spirits high.. =)

I know you said you sent a Money Order, and I suspect you can't, or won't get in time, an image of it to get your case number from.. so perhaps your NOA1 will seem to take longer because you're waiting on snail mail to get it..

It could take up to a month. In some rare cases, people got NOA2 without receiving NOA1

Should you start worry now? No. If you used check, check to see if it is cleared.

I probably would not worry just yet about it and I'd say give it another week, worst case a month. You are still fairly early in the process.

No worries whatseover .. I sent payment by money order (big mistake .. because you can't get the receipt number off of the back) and never received notice by paper mail. I ended up calling the USCIS after 30 days and got my receipt number which was issued at the time the check was cashed.

Since you filed thru TSC your petition will be forwarded to the California Service Center to be processed, which only adds a few days and you won't even notice that come time for NOA-2.
