Question on I-130 and marriage in a foreign country

Questions: How long do you have to be in a foreign country before you can get legally married in that country , come back to the US, and file the I-130?

Does the USCIS look down upon marriages that happen a few days of entry to a foreign country even though you have known your significant other longer that that ?

As long as you legally need to be in the country to marry.   But at interview spending time with your spouse is better.  Time spent together is the best source of a genuine relationship most people have, and is essential for high fraud country.

I see you are from Canada, same as my fiancee. I am not sure if Canada is considered a high fraud country but the plan would be for me to go to Canada (on my passport as I am a USC) and get married to her within a week or two of my arrival. Then I wish to come back and file the I-130. I have known my fiancee since July of last year.

Every single time you post people tell you that you should wait for the K1 to be finished instead of getting married - that the CR1 will take another year or more yet you're constantly asking about different ways to get married.
We speak from experience you do realize that right?

Its fine to get married and start over in Canada (not a high fraud country) but you're looking at another year plus wait whereas otherwise you'll be together soon!

It depends on the country, I believe. Singapore requires 15 days of physical presence in the country.

I don't think USCIS frowns upon such marriages. Some people may choose to marry overseas for whatever reason. As mentioned, focus should be on collecting evidence of time spent together :)

Think about if Canada would be considered high fraud when compared to Nigeria, Ghana, China, etc... lol

My husband flew Calgary, we drove to BC, spent a few days finishing wedding plans, got married, spent 3 days on "honeymoon"  then drove back to Calgary for a day before he flew out.  I think he was here for just over a week, maybe 10 days?

I did and I would never do it again. It was such a waste of time and money. A year of my life I'll never get back.

Realize that marriage requirements vary from country to country.  For Canada, how long it takes to get a Certified Copy of a Marriage certificate varies greatly by province.  Please be clear about your circumstances and intentions as you ask.  Realize also that being married does not get the two of you together faster.  If you have other reasons to want to marry now, then by all means, go for it and withdraw your I-129F petition for fiancee.

destination weddings are common.  you need to spend just enough time to get a marriage license and get married...

YMMV

I'm from Canada and I married my husband during one of my visits to him in the USA. We went to the courthouse and got a license, and we were married the next day. I went back to Canada, and I visit the USA often. I don't know if this is the first time going to your spouse's country, but it looks better to USCIS if you visit each other a lot. We compiled the i-130 together and he sent it. No issues.

Note that in most cases only one of you will be marrying in a "foreign country".  In this case, definitely.
