Ukraine DCF Visa approved - but admin delayed now - HELP!!

Well here we go again! LOL First, thanks for all the congradulations, but, I guess too early. Sonya passed her interview, and was told to pick up VISA at FedEx in Kyiv in one or two days. She waited three, then I called the embassy. We are on admin delay, they are claiming I spelled Sofiya on one of the forms S-O-F-I-A. But we checked all of our forms and there is no spelling mistakes. We do know when we filed the I-130, the lady who entered Sonya's name in the computer put SOFIA on the KEV-1 checklist, we corrected her and she told us it would not matter, I think it did.

They are telling us they have to send letter to Washington and expect two weeks delay, but we know from experience, that means nothing.

SO HELP!!!!!!!! Anyone had same issue?

12/08/06 - First interview - we cancelled - shot ourselves in the foot for this!!!!

01/23/07 - Interview was cancelled due to Adam Walsh Act

02/13/07 - Sonya recieved her 5 year B-2 Tourist Visa

02/21/07 - Sonya arrives in America

02/26/07 - We are told of new interview on 3/8, but she is in america

03/08/07 - Cancelled interview, Sonya is in America

04/25/07 - FINALLY!!!! LOL Interview and VISA recieved!!!

04/27/07 - VISA delay due to name spelling

YES We preached to many people on this site and people we helped, MAKE SURE ALL YOUR PAPER WORK IS RIGHT. It causes delays of 70% of applications. So we were so careful and we still got screwed. And we see nothing wrong, we have copies of everything and they are all corrected. I even had others check our work, and nothing. SO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS RIGHT!!!!

I'm really sorry to hear that this happened. Let us know how it goes though. I have lived in Ukraine for many years and have encountered problems with names being spelled different ways because of translation. I have never heard of the US government being bothered by it. Hopefully, they will sort it out quickly, though.

Called DOS in Washington to check status of name check, they told me cleared and on way back to Ukraine. So hopefully thats it, but learned not to hold breath.

Another advice to those who have reschedule interviews, update your paper work, they asked us for new 2006 tax returns and Affidavit of Support since its after April 16th and luckily we took some good advice from people on this site and had all that available at Sonya's interview. So I imagine those who submitted petitions before April 16th, should bring most recent tax returns and Affidavit of Support even though previous was approved.

So thanks for advice and saving an RFE and more delays!!!!!!!!!!!!!
