Hello everyone!

Some of these questions may have been asked already but I cannot find them in the threads- my apologizes for repeating if so.

I am recently married (I am American and my husband is from the Isle of Man, UK) We are trying to get our applications ready to go, so when we get our marriage certificate we can submit right away. A few questions that I'm unsure of from the application:

  1. Physical Address:
    1. I lived in 3 separate apartments within the same apartment complex for 3 years in a row.. do I need to list all of my apartments separately or can I just list the complex with my initial move in and final move out date?
    2. I lived in Ireland from May 2014- May 2015, but didn't get my new apartment in South Carolina until June 2015. I was staying with my parents in Rhode Island during the few week gap. Do I need to list that in-between or are the dates okay?
  2. Information about marriage:
    1. In Part 2, Section 20.a-21 asks about my "Current Spouse" but also asks for the date the marriage ended. I'm not sure if I should fill it out and put "N/A" for the date, or if I should put "N/A" for the entire section? It is very confusing.
  3. Geographic Location:
    1. For the questions asking about where I and my family members were born, it only asks for the Village/Town.. do I need to include the state as well? It seems like a silly question but figured I'd rather be safe than sorry.

Any help provided would be MUCH appreciated :) Thank you in advance!

Interpret each question literally and then answer it accurately.  That said, I would combine the residency in one apartment complex.  And, yes, for the US, include the State.  You can't enter N/A in the date field on these forms but you can write it in after printing.

Thanks so much for the help! Any suggestions what I should do from May 11, 2015 and June 20, 2015? I am just afraid to have it look like a gap, but I was staying with family during the month of transition.

Ignore the gap.  They'll see it was short and ignore it too.

If there is anything that doesn't apply to you write N/A. Personally, I wouldn't ignore the gap. It's best to give them as much info as possible. There is space at the end of the forms that should give you room to write more addresses if need be. I think it's better to be thorough than to be unsure and risk the possibility of filling it out wrong.

Lots of blanks on the form are rendered N/A by a previous answer.  This is good, because there are few places on the form where you can actually type N/A.  No / allowed etc.  There really is no need to hand write N/A in all the non-applicable spaces.  The USCIS people may act stupidly sometimes but they are not total idiots.  The instruction writers are not particularly attentive to detail though.  ;)
