Hello,

i was sent here by a friend from Facebook, she said if someone can help its the people in this Forum :)

I want to try to explain my pretty complicated situation and hope somebody can help me. Please excuse me if my english is kind of ruff, i will try my best.

My name is Stefan, i was born in Schweinfurt, Germany in 1979 and live here ever since.

My Mother is german.

My biological Father is US Citizen.

My Father was stationed in Schweinfurt Germany in 1979 during his service in the United States Army. My mom i guess had a good time with him and got Pregnant around March of 1979 in Schweinfurt Germany.

Before my mom knew she was pregnant my Father was stationed back in the USA through the Army and left the country. My Mom never told him that she was pregnant, it was a very rough situation with her German family.

I was born in December 1979 and raised by my mom, on my Germany birth certificate the field that states the father is empty.

When i was 6 years old my mother got married, my step father was also an american working for the us army.

Time went by and i never really worried about my biological father, until i was 26, i talked to my mom and she gave me all the information she had about him. I went online and found a website where i could get the adress and everything from my biological father without any problems.

After a lot of talking to my mom she wrote a letter and put some pictures of me in an envelope and sent it to my father, he got in contact with us and after a lot of letters and telephoning i decided to fly to the states and meet him.

We met and spent a lot of time together (i stayed in the US for 90 days) and it was quickly clear that i would love to move to the us and stay with them. Unfortunately we could not get any postive news during my stay in the us, everybody told us it would be a waiting time of around 10 years to get a visa since i was over 25 years old. Even a lawyer told us the easiest way would be to get married..... I did not want to go that path though.

Now, 12 years later (i have very intense contact ot my Father) and a visit the plan has come up again to try to get my american passport if it is anyhow possible.

A friend of mine said i could get my passport without any Problem, his wife did the same thing and she was over 25 years old when se did this.

Is there a way for me to get my american passport without having to wait 10 years? I found INA 301 online, is that the way i should go?

I would be so happy if somebody could let us know what we have to do, so we can get things started.

If i dropped any info let me know please, i will give you all infos i have.

Thanks in advance

Stefan

The father never acknowledged the child during the period of minority, should be able to sponsor child for residency however.

Quite a few prior posts cover the details.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
