Paul, please don't take offense, but I think you need to chill out just a little and not worry so much. From all your posts it sounds like you're driving yourself crazy! Believe me USCIS will drive you crazy enough - you don't want to add to that so much self-inflicted stress.

AOS can take anywhere from a few months to a couple of years.

Take things one step at a time and you'll get through it!

Just curious, how long does the AOS proccess usually take? just curious how long this whole thing will go on, i know a got alot to do before its time for AOS.

Welcome and please fill in your timeline so others going through the process in the same area as you may be able to answer better. We are not at that stage but from what I hear it has taken people anywhere between a year or two. But it doesnt stop at the AOS I believe after that you also have to get another greencard - but as I said im not there yet so sorry cant help ya much :)

You can get a good idea by looking at the timelines for similar cases in your area. http://www.visajourney.com/timeline While some people get this done in less than a year, it can take far longer for others. In our case, it will be well over a year before the interview. I know of people who have waited more than 5 years for green card interviews. This isn't as bad of an inconvenience as you would think - you can still get EADs during this time. Biggest thing is that it delays the date until you can be naturalized.

As mentioned earlier, AOS can take a few months or a few years. It depends on which service center you must go through. The first green card is good for 2 years then you apply again for a 10 year green card. Three years after the approval for the first green card you can apply for citizenship.

Good luck!

It does vary considerably. Some are granted AOS without interview, while others have to wait years for their interview to be scheduled. Some are required to provide further information, while others are not, this is just down to the caseworker. My AOS took a year, my daughter's two years and my son's application is with the Administrative Appeals Office after waiting 3 years for them to reach their decision to deny him.

Just go with the flow.

Our journey started in 2001 and it's still not over. It's been a rollercoaster ride all the way! Let me off - I wanna be sick!

What is it you are specifically curious about? Although AOS takes a long time you can get a social security number, work permit and permission to travel in and out of the country in about 2-3 months after getting married. So your life can continue more or less as normal.
