Following - I have a long time left for this but interested as I travel internationally every month and can't afford to be grounded when it comes to that time.

When you submit your ROC application they will provide you a letter extending your GC validity for 1 year.  You will travel with boththe letter and the expired GC

YMMV

How long does it take to get the extending letter ??

How long does it take to get a NOA1?  Couple weeks give or take

Best idea is to send in your ROC (I-751) as close as possible to the beginning of your 90 day window. Then, almost no matter how long it takes to get the NOA (extension letter) you'll have it before your conditional green card expires.

So, say for example that your conditional card expires on Nov 15.

Your application window opens August 17th.

If you send your application August 17th, you have 90 days in which you can travel with your conditional green card (and without the extension letter) which should allow plenty of time for the extension letter to arrive.

Then, after Nov 15, you'll need the expired green card plus the extension letter to travel.

Additionally, keep an eye out for your biometrics appointment notification... if you happen to be out of the country when your biometrics appointment is scheduled, you can reschedule (or in some places, do an early walk-in) but if you miss the appointment without rescheduling, your application might be denied.

Is your timeline updated?
