I also see "Trump" and "Russia" in the same sentence all the time...that can't be a great association...

Corrupt is the  modifying fake News and assassinates with Fake News. Genuis   was used to describe Trump and was used to associate with Trump

People talking about Trump and using the word genius are NOT calling him a genius. Just like your sentence didn't call him corrupt.

 

The original article argues that the context doesn't really matter in the end. So I'm just applying the same principle to other discussions that Trump's name comes up in.

I actually finished my post with what I was doing, so my point should be fairly clear. Something something caveman?

 

I'm not really disagreeing with the original article, I'm just pointing out that if it's true then Trump has a lot of negative associations because of how he acts and how the media responds, not just positive ones. "Genius" is not the only word thrown around when discussing Trump. So while maybe that's "good" for him, I'd say there are far more negative "associations" using the same mechanism that the article describes.

I actually read the whole article, did you? It has several paragraphs. A little lengthy.

 

The article did NOT go into detail about any other associations that may be linked to Trump. It only talked about the "genius" association, and how that is actually a positive one. It didn't discuss how the exact same psychology can be applied to every other discussion about Trump. Most of those, when you boil them down and get rid of the 'details' (since the details about the genius association don't matter), end up associating Trump with quite a few negative things. Russia, Corrupt, Fake, Lies all to name a few.

 

Please show me where the article "pretty much" said that. Isn't this the whole point of these threads? To discuss the content of an article, and potential implications? The article applied reasonable logic but just in an incredibly biased one-sided way without actually thinking about the whole picture.

The headline title of the thread is how he sold the entire planet on associating his name. If just one person on planet Earth doesn't associate his name (and I suspect it's far more than one person), that means the entire planet does not, and it means the headline is clickbait nonsense.

The article title is nonsense...that almost goes without saying.

 

The idea it writes about isn't bad. Over time associations can lose their specific context. While maybe in this one case it works out well for Trump, on the whole I'd say he is in the red when it comes to negative vs. positive "associations".

The dead horse here is trying to argue that Trump has an overall greater positive association. Sure maybe this genius one will work out for him, but it's an uphill battle though.
