The Embassy is moving to a brand new building this weekend,  opening for business Tuesday Jan 16.

New address 33 Nine Elms Lane, London SW11 7US

More info found here about how to get there https://uk.usembassy.gov/address-new-u-s-embassy-london/

Expect some general confusion until it all gets sorted out. The website instructions still show map of old Embassy. Does anybody have an interview Jan 16 or later? Have you been told to go to the new location?

Post experiences here to help each other through the transition.

Morning! I have my interview on Wednesday 17th :)

I wasn't told in the letter from the embassy received in December but when you book your online appointment it did alert with the new address from your date above.

Hope this helps and will let you know what the new digs are like!

Yes I opted for the courier, it comes tomorrow according to the tracking so exactly 1 week from the interview date so pretty great going!

Ok my interview is next Tuesday. Today I did a dry run (in some fairly nasty weather) to see what the journey would be like.

I decided to walk from Vauxhall tube station, which in bad weather was my first mistake. If it had been anything other than bad weather, the walk is very doable. Proceeded out of station exit 1 (but 2 is better for the bus station), through The Tower building complex along the river and down Nine Elms Lane.

You'll see the Embassy on the left hand side of the road fairly quickly. However the visa section is not signposted at all. That's ok, keep heading towards and then past the building. Do not cross the road when you come to the Waitrose, instead turn left up Ponton Road and follow the road around the Embassy compound. You keep going around until you get to the southern side of the building. There's a separate building that acts like airport security, with x-ray machine and everything else. You head for that.

Two doors, the furthest one is the visa section door. That's where I'm heading for Tuesday.

I'll report more once I've done the journey for real.

Google Street View has a pre-complete image, but should give you the general idea of where to head for here: https://goo.gl/maps/TbChNY4C8i52
