I would say I'm about as close as you could get. Pretty much the same. If anything, maybe a bit odd to say this, but I am more reserved online than I am in real life! Probably because you have the benefit of nudging someone, facial expressions, knowing people better in certain cases...so I know what I can get away with and not hurt someone irl as opposed to on here. Even if you think you know someone, they can take things wrong on here. As I've said before, I've taken things wrong on here, and others have taken things wrong I've said. It's just gonna happen on a board.

irl, I am VERY VERY outgoing, and much like I am on here...will tell my life story to someone I met 5 minutes ago(IF they are also telling me theirs or something...not just to tell it!! LOL) I am who I am...just not reserved in the least and very vocal about my opinions. I try to always be polite to people, try to build them up and make them feel good about themselves, and when I fail in that I feel bad. The only exceptions are when someone really annoys me....then I make it very, very known. I don't take any #######, irl...and I don't mean I'm some bada** by that either....but I'm more likely to speak up for myself, because I know when I've been "wronged" so to speak...as I said..it's much more difficult to tell how someone means it here...unless it's blatant.

For the most part, I try to do the Golden Rule thing....whether anyone thinks that's dorky or not! :P:) M.

It's so satisfying to see it bubble up, especially if it's not a real smelly one.

As someone said earlier in the thread, we all may think we are pretty much the same online as in real life. And maybe we really do feel that way. But the perceptions people have of us I bet are different than who we really are. So if I were to meet people in real life from VJ, they might have a different perception of me than who I really am, even though I feel I am almost the same. They might think I am different. I might think they are different then who they were on here. It's complicated! We all perceive things differently. I think it would take more one on one convos, and phone convos, to really grasp people's personalities better. Otherwise, just seeing words doesn't give the clearest picture of that person IMO.

I try to be me and I let people be people. Say and do what you want. I don't have to agree, but I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion. But attacking another person who has a different view than you, or being rude and ignorant just because you can hide behind a screen is not very nice.

me i am the same way & online

I am the same as I am online. When I meet people online or in person, I always go the extra mile to be respectful. Simply because I don't know the other person well and because we all come from different backgrounds with different experiences, and most importantly, different opinions, I try not to offend anyone.

I am glad someone posted this, because when I first joined and posted on VJ, some comments I received were very rude. No, ridiculously rude. And I strongly had to convince myself that this is ONLINE NOT IN PERSON, because I wanted to kick some a**. (Yes, while I'm pregnant.)

I have noticed two people in particular who post their smart mouth comments on every one else's page. Although they have experience, they take pleasure in making people feel stupid. I strongly believe these individuals, as others, would not address someone the way they do online. All I can say is keep it real. Don't use the internet as "protection" from an a** whoopin', seriously. It's not funny. And it makes people like me cross my fingers and pray that your personal information come up on my computer somewhere, because I will hill-billy my pregnant a** to your place of residence and slap you to sleep. Obviously, I have no tolerance for people who are rude to others.

(If anyone finds something offending in this reply, then please send me a PM, thank you.)

I feel you here sister, because if I could see some MENA women face to face, I would hit them dead in the m%&%^&$F^*%^*mouth!!!! Then kick them dead in their ugly azz faces.

Reading whatever is considered rude or inconsiderate, on here, ain't nothing. It's nothing but just text and characters. No reason to ever get bent about it. But, I would love to see someone who really enjoys talking ####### on here, do it to someone actually being face-to-face! Having an anonymous face on the internet, they can personify being Superman or Wonder Woman or whatever superhero they think they are. There's a quite few on here, I know I would not be the only one who would knock them on their sissy butts if they spoke to me they way how they instigate ####### or engage people here! Talk is talk. Action is what I'm talking about! ;)

Here here!!!!

The reason people are meaner on line is because they know they can hide behind the PC. They cant be found for a good azz kicking lol.

:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

Hmm... good question. This is a tough one for me because I don't think I have much in common with most of the MENA crowd other than having an SO from Morocco. I haven't run into any situations in outside of VJ even close to the ones on this board that would allow me to answer your question, however I am honest in real life also.

I can think of several courses I took in which a sensitive topic was handled professionally/respectfully during debates or discussion.

what does " not having much in common with the MENA crowd" have to do with the subject?

thank you.

:lol: You and I need to become a team, if that info ever does pop up on your pc let me know - there are a few on here that need to learn some manners and I have no doubt they wouldn't be that outspoken in real life, because if they were they would not succeed in their chosen profession or life in general - well not with many friends anyway.

I would like to become a memebr of that team as well.:thumbs::thumbs:

wow

How can one claim God cares to judge a fornicator over judging a lying, conniving bully? I guess you would if you are the lying, conniving bully.

WOW, would you really?

It's interesting to me that all we know of one another is what we read on an emotionless computer screen-and all we can do is make evaluations based on that. My point evaluation based on all I know of you ( the above) is that you are kind of scarey.

IK HOU VAN JOU, MARK

Take a large, almost round, rotating sphere about 8000 miles in diameter, surround it with a murky, viscous atmosphere of gases mixed with water vapor, tilt its axis so it wobbles back and forth with respect to a source of heat and light, freeze it at both ends and roast it in the middle, cover most of its surface with liquid that constantly feeds vapor into the atmosphere as the sphere tosses billions of gallons up and down to the rhythmic pulling of a captive satellite and the sun. Then try to predict the conditions of that atmosphere over a small area within a 5 mile radius for a period of one to five days in advance!
