I've been reading as much as I can from all the threads here on this site.  Don't get me wrong, I'm willing to put in the work on research and preparing my packet before submitting.

Some members have shared their own experiences and knowledge to many many questions and threads posted.  My request is, Would any of you who have already been approved mind if I private message you during my process?  Particularly those w/ experience in Vietnam.

As I said there are so many threads to search through, especially if there was a related question found but I moved on and now have to search and scroll through multiple pages to find a particular response again.  Also someone else stated in a different thread, some information are old and may be irrelevant.  And lastly, some questions I've found to be similar to my own question but because my particular situation, it's application may be off or not related and I hope to be able to have some resources to message.

I appreciate any advice and will probably repeat myself during this massive process but I hope members are patient and willing to help.  Thank you.

My concerns:

1) I have a criminal record.  At age 18 (I'm 37 now so 19 years ago) I plead no contest to a misdemeanor and paid a $900 fine w/ some # of community service hours.  It was so long ago, I forgot exactly what I was eventually charged w/ but I believe it's theft and damage to a vehicle.  Back then it was stupid but cool to steal stereo systems.  In the past, I had to show proof of this crime to various places; work, immigration (when I applied for citizenship, ect).  I've contacted the city and courthouse where this took place and they have no record as it has been expunged.  They told me to contact the state capital as they may have hard copies or records, I've done that and yet still no copies.  At the end, the courthouse sent me a letter with their letter-head stating that I have no records with them to present to asking agents.  This has suffice but I'm worried this will hold up my process or be even declined altogether.  My fiance has no criminal records.  What are my chances?

2. What can be denied for a beneficiary medical exam.  My fiance has reoccurring kidney stones.  She has not had any pain or issues lately but I believe its still present.  Will this effect negatively?  She does not have any other health issues otherwise.

1. I would not worry about this as the record has already been expunged.

2. I do not think kidney stone will prevent your fiancee from getting a clean bill of health. They are mainly looking for contagious diseases, such as Hepatitis, Tuberculosis, etc.
