Hi there, After waiting forever for my approved case  to be sent from USCIS to NVC (almost 5 months) today I called the NVC and they gave me a number for my case and an invoice #. I dont even know why they gave me that number  cause they told me I have to wait until I receive an email from them with the instructions (the lady told me it could take up to 5 weeks to receive it). I thought I could pay the fees in advance, but they lady told me I have to wait for the email. Is that true? Should I wait for that email to pay fees, or can I start paying fees that way I save some time.

I think some people dont wait for the email, but I am not sure I would like to hear from somebody who has done it without any problem.

Any comments would be highly appreciated. Thanks!

You can start by selecting choice of agent. Once you do that NVC will process that form. Next they will make the AOS available.

What I did after selecting my agent, I called NVC the following day and asked the rep to verify the choice of agent. She did and by mid night I was able to pay my AOS

Good luck.

Thank you so much for your comment. I think I will try to do that. Just wanted to make sure there wouldn't be any problem because I actually haven't received anything from NVC yet. I got the invoice because I called them

No worries. I too called and got case and invoice numbers. Just be proactive, gather your documents so that by the time you pay for IV fee you are ready to submit those documents. You can time it so that once DS260 is open you and you complete it your package arrives at NVC

So chosing an agent and paying fees is possible without getting the official letter from NVC?

I'm gonna start collecting documents. Thanks for your advice?

Yes it is possible. Within a day or 2 you will receive the official email with the attachment to begin the process. You can wait on that or you can get the ball rolling now.  I did not wait because I had no idea it would have come that soon as I was i the US on vacay so wanted to get everything going before I returned home.

Enter and check if it gives you access and if you can do it, I will also find out my new case number and bill by phone and I could do it and save time in the other steps and the email and the welcome letter arrived very late , when I arrived I had already paid the AOS rate and filled out form Ds261 of the agent...

Great. Thanks so much for sharing that info with me. I appreciated it!
