I've read a few articles that have argued that whether or not he says the word doesn't really matter much. I tend to agree with them.

I think people are focusing way too much on "Did he really say that bad word?". Trump's opinions about immigrants from certain countries are already pretty clear, with or without the phrase that people have claimed he used.

I also really enjoyed an article I read from a Norwegian Journalist (http://www.cnn.com/2018/01/13/opinions/norway-says-no-thanks-to-trump-aurdal-opinion/index.html). It's quite in line with the opinions of my wife's Norwegian friends.

Exactly, the focus shouldn't be on whether he really said it or not. No one really knows, because we weren't there. What's more important is that it's in line with how he thinks about how to make America great again. And much, much more important is that there are people who agree with what he said/ or not said. Yes, there are countries that are war torn, suffering and were poverty is a daily issue. But that's not all this countries have to offer, many of them are rising and their economies are developing. As a matter of fact, I see more and more third generation Moroccan Dutch immigrate back to Africa, also see quite a lot of native Dutch people do the same. Immigrating to North Africa, South Africa and other African countries. Building up businesses and living a happy life. Thinking and believing that Africa ( or Haiti, El Savador for that matter) are nothing than shitholes is ignorant, dumb and arrogant.

Also it's not about calling the places ****holes, it's about that presumably said that America doesn't want people from those places. Because presumably they don't add any value to making the America great again project.

I can't seem to find a direct quote of Graham saying he said. As usual the press added a little bit to the story.

I am at least a little suspicious about the 2 Republicans who are now saying clearly that he did not say it. Wasn't their initial response for the first 24-48 hours something like "I don't recall"?

Whatever they said initially sounded an awful lot like "I know the answer but I don't want to say it out loud". Then suddenly a couple days later they both remember...

"Think about it this way: Let's say Trump had the same meeting with the same group of politicians. Rather than say "****hole" or "****house," he referred to African or El Salvadoran immigrants coming into the US as hailing from "undesirable countries." Would the fact that he didn't use a curse word change anything? Of course it wouldn't."

Sums it up well for me. I don't really care about the language. At this point none of us should expect Trump to act Presidential in how he speaks. Foul language is a new norm. It's the meaning behind the foul language that is a problem. It goes against American's foundation, and what should be our core values.

Exactly, I don't loose any sleep over him calling/not calling those countries ****holes. I don't get it why everyone is so focused on that word, but instead ignore the message he is sending out.

I do believe that he made statements about those countries, maybe not with using the word ****holes, I don't know and frankly I don't care cause #proudtobebornina****hole. I do believe he doesn't want immigrants from countries that he consider less, that's the whole core of his presidency: reorganizing immigration to make America great again.

Here is the bottom line. Of everyone in the room you have one that says he said it-Durbin,  You have one that says he spoke to Trump about what he said but does not give a direct yes, that he heard it, you have several democrats that said no comment and several Pubs that said he flat did not say it.

So out of all the people in the room you have one that said he says it, and he has a history of lying about white House meetings, and was called out on it by his own parties white house staff.

So why did the democratic members in the room give a no comment and not back up Durbin.

If this was a court case, the overwhelming evidence says he did not say it.  DHS head testified under oath he did not say it.

Durbin lied its that simple.

Durbin lied its that simple.

Durbin was the only D in the meeting. The rest were just R's. Sens. Cotton, Purdue, Graham, then Reps. McCarthy, Goodlatte, and Diaz-Balart. Then there were WH staff and the DHS secretary.

Some of these people have not released an official statement yet (particularly the house reps) but so far only Purdue insists Trump did not use the word. Cotton claims he did not hear it, which does not deny if he said it. Today under oath Nielsen said she did not hear it either, again does not deny it. Although I can't get over it, under oath she said she actually did not know Norway is a predominantly white country, which indicates we pretty much have bluntly ignorant DHS secretary but that's a different topic.

Anyway as of now it is Durbin's word vs Purdue's. No one else confirms or denies and no other D was in to room to back Durbin. Either Durbin or Purdue is lying, but we would only know if the other R's stop playing the I don't recall game and remember what was actually said.

How can you deny someone said it, if you did not here it. Same thing So why is no one else in the room saying they heard it
