Google Reginald Denny. That is without googling. I am sure I could fill a page .

Or that older white man beaten by a bunch of black kids the day after Trump won. They were screaming "he's a Trump voter" and beat him up.

Now do the opposite... put a bunch of white rednecks in middle America beating a black person and screaming "he's a Hillary voter"... I think we would still talk about it on the news a year later.

(and politicians play a crucial role, just to gain a few votes) and that is too bad.

Politicians know all too well how to play the influence game, Trump as well. Because even if he didn't say it, it turns out a lot of people actually support it.

Beautiful mix your kids btw.

When was the last time that KKK killed someone?

Put two hooded white people outside a polling place and let's see what happens.

Reality is that anyone even mentioning race in politics especially is in bad faith.

of course it was, please read my comment in context with the comment i was responding to..

old white male politicians holding closed door meetings, letting their true colors fly - more things change the more the stay the same.

I think we had a convo about this a while back.  Wherein you claimed that you don’t think older white males are racist.  But this comment seems to decry otherwise.

Not a burden? Yeah. I think we go through that already every time an affidavit of support is filed.

Also why do you think a person who is educated will be less likely to be a burden? Having an education doesn't grant you a job. Having a green card doesn't grant you one either. And neither of them means you won't be a burden on the system. If you are an honest person and uphold your end of the bargain to the agreement then you won't.

Were our ancestors educated? Doubtful. And yet.. they still managed to provide a valuable contribution.

And hasn't the argument on this forum from time to time been that it's the everyman.. the ''common'' man, having no higher education or higher degree, but with real world skills are somehow more valued? Weren't people annoyed that persons with degrees from India and Pakistan were outsourcing American jobs? Hope they are prepared for more of that.

The gist that DHS sec gave was that POTUS implied why couldn't more people come from Norway, as they are 'hardworking'. Well I see hardworking immigrants every day that are not from Norway, and work just as hard, if not harder. They do backbreaking work for very little pay. They are teachers, doctors, nurses, farmers, builders, and a whole host of other intensely difficult and laborious jobs.

I mentioned JFK and Reagan to make two examples (both parties) of two Presidents widely respected and with great accomplishments.

And no, I don't assume anything. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise.

And yes, ratting out private conversations (at any level) is a great sign of low character to me.

I found America to be much less racist than most European countries (including my own country). What are the racist ideals you refer to? Segregation? That's long over. Don't forget that people in Europe were literally exterminating each other no later than 73 years ago.

You have to realize that many people who think Americans are SO racist have never stepped foot outside this country.  Many have likely not even left their state.  That is the extent of their experience with racism.

uh, off the top of my head..dylann roof.

again, i do not compare the two. i do not think the kkk and the black panthers are two sides of the same coin.

so, you're saying it's not pc to discuss racism in this country and how it affects us?

You'd think, being on an immigration forum.... and going through this process that they'd know this...

Nevermind.

We can discuss whatever we want freely, that's not the point.

My point today is that we're soooo obsessed with the PC madness that we are AFRAID of saying anything that could hurt someone not white.

For instance, I think affirmative action is a disgrace. If admission is non-discriminatory and based only on academic merit, then I don't even want to know the racial composition of the class. If you have to admit 100 kids and the 100 kids who score better are all asian, or black, or white, then be it.
