Does anyone here really think Haiti is not a ****hole country?

Haitians would probably be the first one to confirm.

I hate the PC madness.

It's part of being civilized, morals and respect. Unwritten golbal rules just as like you don't take a on the street in front of everyone, and then claim: well, it's human nature. Certain things you keep to yourself.

Has nothing to do with PC-ness.

People, there will be no one “winning” this discussion.  The remarks may have been in bad taste for a president to say, but they were accurate for some of the countries I have heard mentioned.  As Trinity pointed out, saying things like that out loud can have a negative effect on people, and certainly has caused the Haitian ambassador to get offended.  He claims that too much of Haiti is just misunderstood.  (Not sure how that is even possible.)

I have read about 4 or 5 different things that were “actually said”.  So either people are interpreting it differently who were actually in the room, or some things were simply untrue.  Now, supposedly Haiti was not being referred to when the SH remark was allegedly thrown out there.

I think it is time for this thread to die.  Until the US government passes a law preventing blacks or other minorities from immigrating here, then our policies are not racist, and we are making a lot of noise about nothing.

True. He said those words (if he said those words) in a private meeting.

Political opponents took them public (if not outright lied, we will never know) for their own interest.

This is why I hate career politicians, on both sides.

I want someone who speaks frankly, whether I agree with him/her or not.

Why? I actually like the thread. It's not about winning, at least that's now I see it. It's about exchanging opinions.

It came out in the open. It's discussed worldwide, how more public can it be?

How is it racist to point out a country is a bad place run by bad people?  Should we not condemn these bad leaders regardless of their skin color?  I guess not since most of them are left leaning socialists.

He can condemn the bad leaders whenever he wants just like what he's doing with the little rocket man. In fact, I want him to condemn more bad leaders but commercial agreements and politics stops him doing that. Condemning bad leaders is not racist at all. Unfortunately, that meeting was not a meeting about the Foreign policy, it was about immigration.

Did he do this in an open setting, or is this the case of a butt hurt senator possibly making things up?

The Government of the United States has a right to write guidelines in its immigration policies.

And the people have the right to have an opinion about those guidelines, and not just follow them as mindless sheep.
Having an opinion helps them to be prepared for who they vote for.

Why don't you invite the family that lives in the undesirable house, to move to your house and help support them . Then once they get comfy,  bring their family with them . Better than that just take the locks off your doors and let people come and go at will.

is that what America does? Because as far as I know if you want to come to America you have to go through a long intense, expensive process. A lot of locks there.
Or are we gonna have more locks for less desirable (****hole) countries and fewer locks for the desirable countries like Norway?

My in-laws are the first people who told me the Soviet Union was a ****hole country.

I will guarantee you if Trump said that about the Soviet Union WW3 would break loose. If he said it he is smart enough not to say it about countries he knows will affect him.

We don't know what past Presidents and Senators said in private meetings.

Politicians used to have dignity back then and did not disclose conversations held in private meetings.
