bedoskyjv,

I don't understand why the death certificate is not enough? Maybe your fiance can get a record of cremation from the funeral parlor? Or maybe have a mutual friend get some photos of the wake? Just try to give the embassy something to work on.

My fiance and i had our interview on feb. 23rd i did attend, we had pleasant interviews with both consulars and the second told us there was some xtra processing our papers needed and to go to window 35. When we got to window 35 the women told us we needed to call the embassy with fathers name, while at the window i told her that we listed in all paperwork the father as "unknown" as that is what the birth cert and her mother told us. She took that info down and said they will have to review this and get back to u, but im going to have u pay for del bros delivery fee. I asked how long does the average review takes she said 6 - 8 weeks. 22 days after our interview my fiance had visa in hand. I was told by our neighbors in philippines that people in formal clothes came asking questions about "us" the week before she recieved her visa, possibly some kind of field investigation..... dont ask me. But im not complaining about 22 days from interview with an AR.

Ours was a CR-1 visa. After the wife's interview, she was given the 221g form, in which the only box checked was "Wait until you hear from us. There were apparently no problems with the documents submitted. We were told by the embassy one week later that they're doing a marriage index check. After almost three months, I was lucky enough to get in contact with the deputy chief of immigrant visas, where he told me a first check showed she wasn't married, then a second check through NSO says she and I were married. The case went to Fraud Prevention unit.

During the whole ordeal, I've contacted senators and Department of State officials as to the long administrative review process. After 4 1/2 months of AR, my spouse received her CR-1 visa.
