Hey all:

Question: My beneficiary has dual citizenship for both Germany and Ireland (though he plans to have his visa stamped in his Irish passport). However, his country of residence is currently the UK. When it comes time for his interview, will he be able to have it at the consulate in London? Or will be he required to go to Berlin or Dublin? All of this information was provided in the petition we submitted a few weeks back.

Secondly, for the sake of my timeline and profile with VisaJourney, should I keep his country as UK?

Does he have both passports German and UK one? If so, copy of which passport was attached to the application?  If it was the UK passport and his current residence address listed in the application  is in the UK then I believe his interview will be scheduled in London. If UK listed on all the documents then the profile on VisaJourney also should have UK.

He doesn't have a UK passport - he has a German and Irish passport but lives in the UK. Both German and Irish passports were provided in the application as well as his current address/residency in the UK.

When it comes time for his interview, will he be able to have it at the consulate in London? -Yes. If his current residence is London, then yes he can have his K1 visa interview in London. On the I-129F form, there is a question that asks which embassy or consulate you want the interview to be, answer London there.

Secondly, for the sake of my timeline and profile with VisaJourney, should I keep his country as UK? -Since you'd like to be doing your process in the UK, then put UK there.

Thank you! I had forgotten about the question regarding which consulate he would want the interview, but we did put London!

Great, then you are all set! Good luck on your journey, it can get tough with all the waiting so you will need lots of patience. =)

I'm no help on the question itself, but just because there's not enough to think about already ( ;) ) I'd recommend doing some research about Germany and Ireland and finding out if they both allow for more than dual citizenship - assuming that the intention is for your partner to naturalise eventually, that is.  I know there are some countries which do not allow people to hold more than dual citizenship, and some that will say if you wish to become a citizen of another country you must give up citzenship in that country.  Not to scare you because I don't think Ireland or Germany does that, but just something to consider into future plans :)

Good luck with the forms, they're a pain to get done but so worth it!
