I filed for VAWA due to the extreme abuse I suffered my US husband. We got married in December 2015, and lived together his children and my last son. He filed for adjustment of status for me but withdrew it in September 2017 but I had filed VAWA before then. We are both pastors and did run a church together, while we still work full time. I moved out of the house and now live by myself.

My my question is, must I divorce him to get VAWA approved. I do not want to deal with problem now because of our spiritual  status, I just want to get over the trauma of my abusive and get on with my life. I will appreciate your prompt response.

I think you should consult with a lawyer. Find one in your area who’s got a reputation on immigration cases. Shop around, sometime they offer a free consultation, go for an in person consultation with all your paperwork and your questions.
