N-400 CITIZENSHIP APPLICATION

I want to apply for the N-400 "Application for Naturalization". I now qualify as I received my 10 year green card.

I want to submit it online so I created an account on the My.Uscis website (https://my.uscis.gov/account/applicant)

When I enter the website it shows  "Track A Case, File A Form, Verify Identity" (attached screenshot)

I started the N-400 form but it ask "What is your USCIS Online Account Number?" (attached screenshot) I do not have an online account number as far as I know.

QUESTION 1: Do I need a USCIS Online Account Number to submit the form?

Then, in the Verify Identity area, when I click that it asks for "Department of State (DOS) Case ID". (attached screenshot)

I called DOS and they said it would be the MNL number I received from Manila.  So I used that but the site says: ERROR incorrect DOS ID and that it could not locate me. I made sure everything was correct many times and it same the same thing.

QUESTION 2: Do I need to verify my identity before I submit my N-400 online or do I need to submit the N-400 before I can confirm my identity?

Thank you for any help you can give.

You said that you don't have an online account number. Then check the box that says "I do not have a  USCIS Online Account Number" and proceed to file the application.

But what about the verification of Identity? Do I need to do this before I submit the N-400?

The only thing you should need is A-number which should be on your green card. I don't remember needing to fill out DOS Case Id number. First click on "I do not have a USCIS online account number" and then see what it asks.

Yes, on the submission for the N-400 form, it only asks for the A-Number.

I am talking about the Verify Identity section. A-Number plus It asks for a Department of State (DOS) Case ID.

The Verify Identity section isn't need to file an N-400 online.

Simply check the appropriate box saying you don't already have an online account and proceed with the application.

As said a couple of times, you don't need to fill out that section.

Just check the box stating you do not have a USCIS online account number, and continue with the application.
