I am a British citizen married to an American citizen who will soon have a British Spose visa. At the start of our relationship I traveled on a visa waiver 3 times not realising that I was not aloud due to a shoplifting conviction when I was 19....

I also overstayed by 20 days on my last visit. Both big mistakes due to  being  naive of the visa rules....

How can I go about being aloud to travel again?? 😔

Give it a few years and then try for a B.

If that misdemeanor was recently the consulate usually doesn't approve tourist visas. When were you caught shoplifting? That alone would've minimized your chances of getting a visa approved but now that you also overstayed on your previous visit your chances of visiting are pretty much zero. And I'm not even going to mention the lying on your ESTA applications bc that can be seen as willful misrepresentation which carries a life time ban from the US...

Thanx guys. Yea I am well aware of all of the above. I just wanted some advice realy if there was anything I could do u apply and appeal, my husband has just got a Spose visa over here so we are not in any great rush to travel I'm not looking for some miracle  but having a baby it would be nice to go and visit my husbands  family.

The crime was coming up to ten years ago. It was 'spent' at the time of travel which at the time I thought it ment it did not need to be declared, like I said naive to visa rules.

The overstay was due to being recently married and my husbands mother being very unwell, just a lot of mistakes made TBH.

I suppose what I'm asking is would I be able to apply for a waiver? Would that even be an option?

You would need to be otherwise approvable to get as far as a waiver which with your recent history seems a long shot but no harm applying.
