I think you are right. I feel sorry. Hope you had travel insurance. I know exactly how it feels.

I am on H1B visa until may 2019. The stamp on my passport expired in Dec 2016 and in Dec 2017 I was going to take a trip to India to meet my family after 2 years. I checked in at the airport and the flight got cancelled. Since my connecting flight was on time, I lost the original planned journey. I had a finger printing appointment in New Delhi US Embassy on the day I was going to land. I had to cancel the whole trip because of this. The next available visa appointment was in Jan 2018. Even lost the money since I had purchased non refundable tickets on my international leg of the journey.

did you hear any thing from Ombusdman?

First, I contacted congressman on Feb 9. She answered me on March 1st that “my case is about to be assigned to an officer for review soon”. I contacted ombudsman on Feb 16th. They answered me on March 12 that “my case is under review”. My I765 was appoved on March 18th. I believe the congressman was the one who speed up the process. I will contact her again about my I485 because it is about to pass 6 months.

Since they told you your case is under review, I think you should get the card very soon.

No, the website is still showing “Case was received”, but actually I already got the card

How do u know it was approved March 18? This is nonsense, cant they fix their system so you know when ur case was approved to manage accordingly?

Emailed my immigration attorney, She said that I have to wait until Mar 16 since my previous S.R.'s 30 days are not done yet.

BTW she also mentioned that I might well get my I-485 interview prior to EAD/AP approvals. I am taking it with a pinch of salt as she might be "Keeping up my spirits !" LOL

Friend, any update?
