Pending I-130 for spouse of an LPR turned USC at California Service Center CSC

I filed I-130 for my spouse in Mar 2017 as an LPR. I turned USC in Nov 2017, and my application was upgraded to spouse of USC from spouse of LPR on Dec 6, 2017. The application is pending at CSC

Based on forums, the I-130 for spouse of USC is getting approved with May 2017 priority dates, but my application is not yet approved. I went to an infopass appt last week, and they told me that my application was "touched" on Dec 13, and they dont know what happened with that touch. They were unable to provide any other info, and asked me to just wait.

Can someone please advise what can I do to expedite this in any way given other applications with the same category are getting approved.

Unless you meet the USCIS expedite criteria, there's no way to expedite the case. That said, you can submit a service request and/or contact your local senior senator and request an inquiry on your behalf. Neither option can make them go faster, but hopefully it should prod them into looking at the case or at least finding out where it's at in the process.

That's not quite right. It was in a different category and had you remained an LPR probably wouldn't have been worked on for another 6 months.

Now that you upgraded to CR-1 category needs to get out from F2A queue to CR-1.

I really don't see a case for expedite here, they'll get to you.

They took a month from Nov 9 to Dec 6 to change the status on my case from LPR to USC - i was informed through an email. I never got an update NOA for this. I am hoping that the upgrade email would mean that my case status has also changed from F2A to CR-1.

Now the question is that it has been a month since this upgrade, and still no news from USCIS.

Further, the online case status website still tells me that the "we received the case in Mar 2017, and blah blah .." -- no mention of the upgrade in Dec 2017.

pkd1,

May I ask how long does it take for NVC to process your case? And what is the current status of your application?

I also upgraded my case to USC in Nov 2017 and got NOA2 in March 2018. Still waiting for  NVC.

Thanks

NOA2 on Jan 24

NVC Received on Feb 8

NVC took about a month to enter the case and generate IIN

after that, few weeks to enter all the forms. I sent all the documents to NVC just 10 days ago on Mar 25th.

Now waiting for interview date.

Upgrading applies to the case AFTER USCIS approval.  Processing times are not different at USCIS for spouse of USC vs Spouse of LPR.
