USCIS needs proof of meeting.  USCIS is NOT interested in proof of relationship

And that's why I did not do any printouts from our online communicators. I will submit that so she can show it during her interview.

I only sent the pages from my passports with the relevant stamps. I travel internationally for work also quite a bit. So much that I order the 100 page passport book ( Size of a small bible) if I sent in all my pages copied it would take a ream of copy paper. You may want to invest for the 100 pager. If you filled up 3 100 page passports in 2 years, My hats off to you, you have me beat by a mile. I'm only halfway thru my 100 pager, and I have had it for 7 years now. Actually its only a 52 page passport, I just checked, but it gives you about a 100 visa pages because they are front and back.

Should be good I would think, I'm pretty sure a language school qualifies as a place that can do translations. I sent my fiance to Patong Language school for 8 levels of English over 4 months time (2weeks a level) and it helped her get a promotion at her job and helped our communication also. Only did it because a few ex-pats that live in Thailand said that's the best thing you can do to help her out, and this was before we got engaged and were just dating. I am also planning on enrolling her in some English language courses when she gets to America, since she won't be able to work for many months here, I figure it will give here something to do so she doesn't feel like she does nothing. Plus, I found a few places that offer the ESL courses for free. you might be able to do that also, not sure how fluent your fiance is in English, but the better English the better the job I figure when she is able to work. It's crazy how I am making all these plans not even knowing if she will be approved. Not that we have any reasons why not, but you will see how it is after you actually send in the paperwork and you get that NOA1 and know the process has started it really gets on your mind. I deal with a lot of government entities at my job as is, so I am really familiar with the good old slow moving government process, but it's different when you are in it 100% committed. I wish you the best of luck, and smooth sailings, sounds like you got this.

As for the ESL. When I moved to US over 20 years ago I didn't speak word of English. I went to two different free ESL classes at the same time (local high school and community college - both for adults). Frankly, the teachers seemed to be doing their work as a community service mandated by the court. I didn't learn anything in those classes.

Then, I took government subsidized ESL class. I think I had to pay just for the books. Which was very little. I took 3 levels and my English has really improved.

Think about it. Don't send her to any ESL class, as some of them are just waste of time.

What I did on my own during first 6 months in US, I would write 10 random words with the pronunciation, and I would learn them daily.  After couple of months my vocabulary got bigger, but I wasn't able to put the words together in a proper manner. Then I started reading newspapers and books in English. This actually did the trick.

So keep that in mind. I know first hand from my own experience how it is to move to another country without knowledge of the local language.

Good luck to you! :) Looks like our fiances are from the same island :)

Thanks for the tip, I never thought about the "FREE" courses like that. You have a good point. I have no problem even enrolling her at the local college for a English class, but with her classes she took, and us talking every day her English from when I first met her has improved 10 fold. But you have some excellent tips. I know they make flash cards and stuff for teaching languages, I might be better investing in those and do like you did and do the random flash cards every day to improve vocabulary and work knowledge. I had a lot of luck with a computer based Rosetta stone type learning to help me with my Thai, but I am still at a basic level, but can get by. I plan to retire in Thailand and become a permanent resident, so learning the language is important. I hope once we are living together it will be good for both of us to teach each other. Thanks for the tips!!!:)

What needs to be translated other than the letter of intent to marry? everything else is mine that I filled out in English??

Why would you have to translate letter of intent to English??? Unless your fiance doesn't speak English.

I had to translate last name change from Thai to English.

I wrote both in English for her and for myself. She printed it out, signed it and sent it to me. So there was no need for translation.

One unrelated question. How long it usually takes to receive notification from the government that they have received my documents?

I've opted for email and text on the G-345(?) form.

Thank you

It's not mandatory, but it 'should' be helpful for you.

I'm just wondering how long it takes for them to respond about receiving my form.

They've got my documents last Tuesday. I guess they didn't even open my package yet.

If you've got boarding passes, adding in the flight itineraries is just a dead tree and extra weight/space for absolutely nothing.  Itineraries/bookings mean nothing without the proof that you were on the flight or at the hotel. So boarding passes and reciepts mean a lot more than the bookings.
