I am filling the paperwork for the K1 visa.  She has a child but the child lives with her ex boyfriend.  He wanted to get married to her but she refused.  He was very upset and threatened her life so she left him and the child.  She feared for her life and the child's life.  She knows were the child lives but doesnt know the adress and she doesnt know how to  get the adress.  Can i just put the city and province were the child lives in the application with an explanation.  Thanks

If there’s a child custody issue here, you have bigger problems than what to write down for an address on a piece of paper. If you’re filing for the kid, she’s gonna need to have full custody and authorization from the child’s father to take them with.

And to answer your question, no you can’t just use city and state. You need full addresses.

Thanks for taking time to answer my question.  There is no custody issue with her.  She's been on her own for the past 4 years.  Thanks again.:D

Just to clarify---the mother is not going to try to bring the child to the US to live with her at any point?  That's the custody issue the previous poster was talking about.

If she is fearing for the child's life, it seems she would have a valid reason to want to bring the child with her.

No, she will not due to safety reasons.

I'm trying not to judge her decision at all here...just thoroughly confused now....maybe it was the way the original post was worded..

You said earlier that she feared for her life and the life of the child at the hands of her ex-boyfriend....perhaps not the best situation to leave the child in, if it can be proven that he is/was abusive.

Unless you meant to word the original post differently.

Hope things work out for her and her child.

To answer your question---If they have common family/friends perhaps one of them can supply the full address where the child is living?

Sorry for the confusion. She left the child with him cause she didn't know if she would hurt her and the child.  She reluctantly left him the child cause she felt it was the only way to be at peace with him.  It pained her to do so.  The child is doing good with the father and the father's family.  She's been on her own for 4 years and i have known her for 3years.  We are trying to obtain the address through a friend they have in common hopefully we will get it real soon. ☺ thanks again for taking the time to answer my questions and sorry for the confusion.
