Hi there, my fiance and I will be flying to the US in late January with her K1 Visa.

Does anyone have a brief rundown of what occurs at port of entry and what is necessary to bring besides the sealed documents from the consulate/embassy?

Will latops/cameras/phones be searched or need to be turned on now a days? or does that vary on whoever interviews you?

thank you!

I entered in September, my POE was Boston Logan airport. The line was short, like 2 people before my turn, I handed the office my documents who complained that the stack of papers from the Embassies is getting smaller lately(I would think that's a good thing!) and asked me some generic questions, took my fingerprints, I was done in less thank 10 minutes, he didn't welcome me to the US lol. My now husband was with me and he took way longer going through the US citizen line, I had to wait for him for like 20 minutes not the other way around!

The process will vary depending on your POE.  Some do everything from the booth while others take you back to secondary.  My experience was about 45 minutes at JFK.

Immigration step does not screen your luggage they leave that up to Customs after clear immigration and you collect your bags

YMMV

I came with my fiancé on K1 we landed in Minneapolis as our POE, a few years ago.

I was asked if I paid my taxes last year, which I replied of course I did.  Then I was told after we got married to go to the local USCIS in Dallas Texas and apply for AOS.

From my understanding going to a USCIS for a AOS was done about 20 years ago

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.
