I reserve a special ire for those who take advantage of a USC for a green card. I saw it all the time in tunisia (not necessarily with Americans but with European women)

But the question is basically, can I come to the US and marry someone other than the person who sponsored me.  That is a sign of a scam relationship and the stuff that the CO is paid to stop.  Visa fraud.

I think that is Capital letter NO to visa fraud, for someone who want to embark on a life time journey who is leaving thier well paid job to settle down in marriage needs to be extra ordinary carefull, while carrying out a risk assessment u think about possibilities and severities, if probably *shes*  for instance is a woman who is not submissive, into drugs, fornication, trouble maker, dictator etc..and all this cant be detected during the distance relationship.. will U proceed with such marriage??.. if the spouse already resign his high paid job and have nothing to go back home for. If the spouse had someone in mind b4 why is she not the petitioner in the first place...  We all need to be positive about our reasonable and comment on net...i dont think considering both positive and negative of a step is bad.

If you need to ask any of these questions after lodging a petition you really didn't know each other well enough to begin with and should not be going down the path of a K1 fiance visa application until you do. Nor do you leave well paying jobs until the application has been approved.

And if they had someone else in mind why on earth are they doing a K1 petition with another person OMG

Everything you stated is marriage related. Nobody is forcing you to be married to anyone you don't want to be. Nor to be in a toxic marriage.

That being said, immigration is a separate issue. And without said marriage you don't have path to being a permanent resident.

Logically you would have a better chance returning home and finding another US citizen to start over with than to remain in a foreign country with no legal status.

More likely to find a USC in the US surely?

So you're not proceeding because wife is not submissive ?

Anyway - you'll have to leave and your new wife will have to file spousal visa for you. K-1 is dead.
