Hello,

I sent in my EAD/AP with my I-485 to adjust from K1.  After sending it I got an RFE in October for a missing tax form (it was a small oversight) and I promptly mailed it back with 1 day mail service.  It is now January and I just got a notification that my EAD/AP combo card was being printed but my I-485 case still shows the status online as "Request for Initial Evidence Was Mailed".

After mailing the RFE back a few weeks later I did get a mailed paper back telling me that my medical on file was now one year old and would expire, it said to take no action as my case was processed and that should I have an interview I'd be required to bring a new copy of that paper (a vaccination signature paper - I6xx I think).

My question is: Does this mean they didn't get my RFE or does this mean they did and the status simply didn't update?

Status often does not update.
If your DS3025 says complete and if you  filed AOS within a year before your medical expired then you really don't need a new medical/vaccs.
We filed within 7 months of the medical and it took 2 1/2 years for the AOS to be approved without a new medical.
However some newbie adjudicator may tell you otherwise and then you have to get it unless you want to argue with them.

Thank you for that information! I was just paranoid about the website.  Now my EAD/AP show approved on website.  Still show RFE sent on the AOS but I am hoping it's just the site!

Thanks!

I had the same thing, I had my RFE in October, however I called USCIS because I needed to know if they received my RFE because if they didn't or if I sent he wrong info, it would've gone past the number of days I had to send the info to them. So, after calling them I spoke to a tier 2 officer (if you do it early in the morning, I think it's 8am, you get a call back from the officer pretty much straight away, else you have to wait hours, even days sometimes.) I explained my situation and he told me that they had received it and it just hadn't updated yet. It took like 2 weeks after they received it to actually update on the site/app, although yesterday it changed to 'Case Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview' on the DAY that they updated it. So, I think your best bet would be to speak to that tier 2 officer. Every office is different, it just depends how many applications there are, what officer went through your case etc. I still haven't even gotten my EAD approval and that's what I was expecting next, not the interview! Everyone here can only take a guess at what is going on your case but no one can know for sure because everyone's case worked out differently. Definitely give them a call! ☺️

Thank you very much!  My RFE was on Oct 25 and I sent back the evidence 3 days later overnight.  I just got my EAD/AP approval (online) yesterday - maybe that timeline will help you a bit, sounds like you should be getting yours soon too!
