I am fine with Oprah running, but I wonder if she will be vetted by a number of other DNC candidates, or if she will just get the nomination by acclamation?

I believe the DNC anoint their candidates.

During the 2016 elections, Democrats insisted that competency is essential in any presidential candidate. That is sounding more than a little hypocritical now

The Republicans used to bring that up too. Then a complete nincompoop like Trump comes along and wins the primary, and the whole game changes.

But that is the difference isn’t it?  Trump beat out 16 other candidates in contested primaries.  Do you think the RNC truly wanted him as the candidate?  The DNC on the other hand handed the nomination to Hillary and paid off Bernie to keep him happy.

She already had a TV show and is a billionaire, so no need for her to do that.

Yes, but she doesn't make it a point to denigrate the poor, so clearly isn't qualified to be president. A couple dozen bankruptcies, and an inability to tell the truth, no matter what, wouldn't hurt either.

She’s black and female, so she is way more than qualified.

I am not sure I would want her to be president, but right now the bar is set pretty darn low, if you ask me.

I'm referring to Obama's senate experience not being good enough qualification for the presidency, and the 8 year long whine session the GOP built around that. Of course along comes Trump with all his reality TV experience, corporate bankruptcies, and scamming old people with fake university degrees, and yeah that's real presidential material. Hypocrites!

You made it sound like the GOP picked Trump.  As I said, most of the GOP leaders did not want Trump, but he won the primary.  You could say the same thing about the DNC in 2008.  That was supposed to be Hillary’s anointing, but Obama with his meager experience said the heck with that, and he went out and won the primary.  If the DNC had stayed out of bed with Hillary in 2016 and ran a truly open primary they may have found a candidate that might have won.

I find Ophra  kind of hot in a strange kind of way. Not as smoldering sexy as Condi Rice, however. She seems nice enough. I don't know why anyone would get all bent in either direction about her running.

See what her postions are and go from there.
