It says you live in IL, so is Chicago your local office? If so, Chicago is one of the slowest offices in terms of AOS processing. The current listed processing times says they are processing I-485 cases with a filing date of January 5, 2017. There are some Chicago filers who filed in Feb and March 2017 who have had updates, but many are still waiting.

A year is still about the average time frame give or take. We filed in Late February 2017 and received GC in mail in December; but each case is different from evidence given to the person reviewing the file to local office. Can try to contact and make an update request but at this point have to just keep waiting.

Hey Marcy,

I saw your filling location in Chicago lockbox, I'm not sure if it affects the processing time.

Do you have any update after the appointment?

Yes. went there and this guy said that my file isn't in Chicago anymore. It's already in National Benefit Center..which god knows where it is actually. He even dictated my timeline, and the last time NBC touched my case was January 29th, which 3 days before my appointment. He said that I should expect anything from USCIS re my case any day now. He even noticed that it is taking longer than normal time. But since then I haven't heard anything yet. I hope it's gonna be very soon cuz.
