I hate that song of, toby keith i think, the one that uncle sam is gonna kick your ###.. i love the message of 'we americans are a bunch of brutes and we only know how to fight with sticks and punches'.. lol i bet there are better patriotic songs... but that one sucks..

now there's good country too, george jones, willie nelson johnny cash, and all the cool singers from classic country station in sirius.. my favvy old song 'all my exes live in texas'.. pwned

i personally like "courtesy of the red white and blue". I think (and so do many others) that he said what we all were thinking, and it was theraputic to hear it. He wrote what was from HIS heart.... and that's what makes it a great song. To hear him sing it live (I've been to several of his concerts) gives me chills, it's amazing.

yep, from his heart showing us he only likes to fight, drink beer and of course, be a redneck.. get-r-dunnnn

i wouldn't think that as 'therapy'.. to kick ### to whoever crosses our path.. i guess thats why Dubya invaded iraq instead of getting osama.. it was therapeutic..

from a former military perspective, it was a song that we (troops and their families) could get into. The current troops love to hear it performed for them as well.

if you think that's what the song means, you are missing on the greater emotion expressed there.

FYI he's a singer, not a lawmaker or government official. His viewpoints and opinions are just that, HIS. And of course the song is about 9/11, not about Iraq, so do not confuse the issue.

I listen to the country station a lot. I like country music... but I can't really get into the patriotic stuff (I don't really get into Patriotic stuff from Australia either - it always feels to me like patriotism isn't something to stand up and shout about, it's something personal.) Except that song about 9/11 which always makes me cry! They're playing 'Proud to be an American' right now and it's not a bad song. Anyone else listen to this stuff?

It also seems a bit weird to me that at the start of the lunchtime show every day they play a recording of a bunch of little kids saying the pledge of allegiance followed by the national anthem...

and when they have the request show later in the afternoon, people actually ASK them to play it again!

i only dislike gangsta rap more than patriotic country music :bonk: ... maybe it's just that i have to deal with so many rednecks on a daily basis that most patriotic things turn me off now. ... not that i hate my country ... but i'm not EVER going to hang a rebel flag on anything......

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

hey whats wrong with rap? i think y'all dis the rap culture. which is an expression from the black youth (im talking about the original rap, gangsta rap is more a marketing thing, rather than a way of expressing real life...)

that's just the thing... i'm not "dissing" all rap, just the "booty flapping", "fiddy cent", "gold teef", unintelligable, gangsta rap. ... i even like eminem sometimes.

yea i dunno how can Nelly sing in his 'grillz' song with that kilo of gold between his teeth..

although, the nasty 'dirty south rap' is good sometimes.. they have some cool songs.. i.e David Banner's Play song.. (not the censored one, they are veryyy different).. and of course, who?? mike jones who?? mike jones!

eminem when he wants to, has some sick lyrics, and a very original style too

Can handle Country music some. But I really like to two step and to be honest like to dance most dances, Cumbia, rancheras, samba, forro, regatton, ect. HipHop is OK - some of it. Grew up on rock - all burnt out on it though.

10Yr GC arrived 07/02/09 - Naturalization is next

The drama begins - again!

And now the drama ends - they took the Green card . . .
