Employment history and blank boxes...

Hi,

I was doing a job in which I was an independent contractor giving free cell phones. The company was safe link wireless but there was no specific address for the job. We used to stand in different locations.

What should I put as the address of the job? Could I just use my home address?

Also with regards to boxes with no answers, do you just leave them  blank? Or do you have to put N/A?

If you have to put N/A, do you have to do it for EVERY blank box? Or only the first one?

Because putting N/A in the first box for a question automatically implies that the rest of the boxes is N/A too, no?

For example if you have only lived in one place for the last 5 years, putting N/A in street number or name for address 2 would imply that zip code, state, country, etc would be N/A too..

This is for i130

The addresses, leave it blank

The job, it's not where you performed it, it's the people who hired you that should be on the address, on the name, etc.

Please don't "Bump" ever again :)

Oh, sorry, you made it sound like you worked for a company, not an individual.

Use the same address you use when you file your taxes.

Well I did work for a company, safelink wireless. But I worked as an independent contractor. I didn't pay taxes on the salary and we worked in different locations. I was hired by my manager who I think was an independent business owner for the company. And I think his salary increases with the sales that we make, I'm not sure.

So if the address/main office of the company is in, let's say, Hawaii. Do I put down the hawaii address in the i130 even though I live and work in New York??

I just don't want this petition to be rejected

To my understanding, Yes. Even if the company is somewhere else, you would have to provide the info that USCIS would use to contact the business if needed, to verify your employment there. You should try to do everything by the book and file your tax return in this Tax Season. Remember that in the future it will be asked from you an affidavit of Support, with evidence that proves that you can provide economical support to your relative, if needed.
