Thanks for the input, that makes sense. Worst case scenario -- what if her interview in Manila would be scheduled before June? What happens then? Just trying to think ahead. Thanks for your help.

legitimately not an issue... no chance before june. im almost to 8 months and not past the first step with potentially 3 months to go after noa2... and its getting worse each day. and they are about to run an immigration bill through congress... apply asap!!!

interview october to december is realistic currently in my opinion for you

Back in the late 1980 to mid 1990 there was a major shortages of nurses in the US. The Medical Center I was on staff at brought over about a dozen nurses from the Phiilipines. These were some of the best nurses we had. Smart, patient centered, caring, and very easy to work with. She will be a good addition to the US.

Is does sound reasonable to use address for the embassy/consulate at which the interview will take place.

My wishes that this goes well for you both,

Thank you for the kind words. The goal is for her to come here, take the NCLEX exam, and work at the hospital. I agree that the Philippines has some of the best nurses in the world! I'm very proud of her.

Wow, that sucks. When did you originally file the application?

Well, 1) Enter, 2) NCLEX (once getting the ATT), 3) Finish getting the license for your state, 4) Get working authorization, and 5) work. :P

Sounds simple enough, but my wife is still finishing up some of this and she arrived in August 2017 and has a job offer at a hospital to start (pending the license being issued and getting the EAD).

There are ways to delay the process before you get to the interview scheduling step. We had to do this in order from my wife to finish up teaching for the school year. She got the K1 petition approval letter (NOA2?) in April and we were able to delay the interview until August.

Yes, the process can be long alright. None of this is simple. But we'll all eventually get there. :)

Taking one step at a time.... Wishing you both luck in your journey.

Make sure she gets her police report / good conduct before she leaves. Its very difficult to get once you leave. Been going through months of getting it for my soon to be wife.

Such as?

Bear in mind, we did this in another country and this was back in 2010-2011 (If things have changed, someone correct me).

When I got the NOA2 earlier than expected, I waited for the embassy to receive the approval letter. We also waited for the embassy to send my wife her package about the K1 process and what they needed from her. Most people will start communicating right away to speed this process.

You can also delay the medical part. Once you have everything, then you can work on the interview scheduling and there could be a wait list. I advise to stay in communication with the consulate/embassy.

That was my goal as well, My wife couldn't pass NCLEX in USA, She is still licensed RN in Philippines but RN there make about 8 to 10 bucks per day in Philippines.

So now I have made my wife a housewife

Just when you think you have TDS eradicate,  a new case shows up.

How did your wife study for the NCLEX exam? My plan is to enroll my fiancee to a review center in PH while she waits for the visa. From what I've heard, it really does help in preparing for the exams.

Mine used uWorld and it was pretty good preparation for the test, along with getting a good idea of her passing chances. It's something to look at anyway.

My wife went thru 4 review centers in the USA.  Hurst, Kaplan and another one and a self study.

How long has it been since your fiancé graduated?

NCLEX is tough. I know someone who took it many times and failed.

She graduated in 2007.
