Bank Account & Credit Card Amount Requirement

Hi,

I am in the process of looking into what I need to be able to bring my fiance over to the USA from Vietnam. I live in Los Angeles Area.

I have a concern with the financial issues. I make close to $45,000 a year with my current job. So, I know that I meet the salary requirement. I am concerning about my bank account amount. How much do I actually need to have money in my bank account?? I just have about $2000 each month in my bank account. What is the requirement amount needed to be in the bank? Also, I borrowed about $40,000 last year in credit card. I am still paying the monthly amount toward it now. Does they also check my credit card history?

Basically, my situation financially are:

Job salary = $45,000 annually

Money in my bank account = $2,000 monthly

Credit Card loan outstanding = $40,000

Own: 2 cars and no house

Concerns: What are the requirement about money being in the bank? and Is there any requirement on my Credit Card?

The don't check your credit history, or ask about your credit card balances.

You well exceed the poverty limits, so you shouldn't have any problems.

With the I-134, technically tou don't need to give them any bank details at all. In the "Supporting Evidence" section of the I-134 instructions it says

Evidence should consist of copies of any or all of the following documentation listed below that are applicable to your situation.

So, you only need to submit the letter from your employer.

I agree with gag. I only submitted my income info for I134 and then again for AOS (Green card.) No problems. Good Luck

I just emptied out my bank last month and now I'm starting from scratch. Say when I'm filing the petition this year are they gonna want some sort of bank statement as of the time I'm applying for or just last year and the 2 years before that? Sofar I got big "O" in the bank.

We got through almost bang on the poverty level. With no bank account info provided. Just a letter from the Employer. You have nothing to worry about, They don't give extra points for the amount you exceed the requirement!

They do NOT ASK about debts or credit... and they don't care about your bank balance - if they are looking at the statement it's only to see the regular incoming amount. You should be fine...
