My has a K3 Interview coming up and I was just wondering if it makes a difference if she gives her interview in Urdu (native lanuage) instead on English. She knows English but she says she might be a little confused and that she won't be as quick to answer or explain something as she would be in Urdu.

Please let me know what your exerience has been in this regard?

Knowing Engllish is not a requirement for the visa. The issue is do you share a common language and how you communicate. I assume you also speak Urdu?

My (then) fiance interviewed in English but asked for clarification in French when he was nto sure what the CO was asking. Then he answered in English. We used English as our main language.

Most times interviews are conducted in a mix of English and local language. You are lucky all of Pakistan speaks Urdu, so no problem for your fiancee!

My guy speaks Telugu and only broken English. He interviewed in Chennai, and the local language is Tamil. Though the consulate sent us 2 emails confirming he would have a Telugu translator, there was none there! He somehow made it through speaking a mix of Telugu and English, and the CO speaking English and Tamil! He got approved fine though!

My Fiance had her interview done in urdu, when they asked her which language she wants to be interviewed in. She had no problem as the CO had a translater asking questions but i can bet he knew urdu as these people are trained when they are assigned to these jobs. Anyway good luck just tell her to be calm and answer all the questions truly. Allah Hafiz

I gave my interview in Urdu. I think CO can speak or understand urdu little bit as he talked to me few words in urdu and a lady translator was also there.

Do it in the langueage you are most comfortable in... A little misunderstanding in a language you are not fluent in could potentially cause big problems....
