Okay, thank you for helping.

I would prob call an accountant who specializes in immigration. Did you make a lot? More fhen 100k? I always file joint and make more then my spouse.  We always get about 3k back. I think we get more this way. But when I first moved here I did not file with my Canadian income only usa

Alright I'll look into it. Thank you for the help. :)

I'd recommend filing jointly and taking the tax hit as that's something they look for in lifting your green card conditions. Just in the interest of raising as few questions as possible!

I'm not a tax accountant, but because you were not a US Citizen or Resident Alien while you earned the income I find it hard to believe that it'd be eligible for US Taxes.

This should help: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p54.pdf (Page 6, Nonresident Alien Spouse Treated as a Resident)

Hi, I came here in 2017 (May) waiting for my Green card Interview, Am I a Non-Resident Alien? or Resident Alien?

Your Green Card is what will make you a Resident Alien. Resident Alien = permanent residency status but not citizenship
