That is semantics and diesn’t change the context, but if you prefer.  Persoanlly, I am not a big fan of semicolons.

Maybe the same way a white supremacist attempting to commit an act of terror turns into a conversation on how Trump supports the KKK and is somehow tied to this act of terror. I must say the link between Obama and cop killers has much more merit however.

(show me where anyone blamed trump for the terror plot. i just wanted to know if this alt right guy, who attended the unite the alt right rally, was one of the 'very fine people' trump was referring to with the statements he made in the days following heather heyer's murder. i would say i'm clueless as to why trump supporters are so gosh dern defensive about an association trump brought about himself, but i don't want to lie)
