Guess a lot of people are into buying books by a confirmed liar who has misquoted people and made stuff up in the past. Wonder why Hillary's book didn't do better. Too over the top I guess.

How do you define success in book sales? I'm not honestly that familiar with numbers in that category so I really have no idea. You'd have to compare a book to similar books (no point comparing a political non-fiction book to a Harry Potter book).

Clinton's book was #1 on NYT best seller list for 2 weeks, then #2 for the 3rd and ultimately was in the top 4 for 6 weeks total. It has spend 16 weeks on the NYT best seller list now. Sometime in December there was a stat of about 500,000 books sold.

Don't know if that is good or not for this "genre" though. It seems at least compared to other things out at the time it did just fine.

Is it going to be complete with the possum-devil tail?

We all know that this is Trump’s personality.  When he is attacked, he fires back.  Right, wrong or otherwise, it is who he is and he has been quite successful with it even up to winning the presidency away from Hillary.

Ya I'm not suggesting it's surprising. I'm just saying it's part of the entertainment. It's par for the course, to use an analogy I think Trump would like :)

I read somewhere that it is claimed that the majority of book buyers use the NYTs best seller list as a reference for book purchases.  Honestly, this really doesn’t do anything for me.  I buy the books I want to read, not a book that is on some list.

Ditto, I do the same. I don't actually know what it takes to be on the NYT list (an absolute number, or just in the top X?) and if it's just the top X list it is heavily dependent on what else is out there (kind of like movies).

However, the person I quoted seemed to be suggesting Clinton's book wasn't successful, not that it wasn't good. I would say if you are talking about a book being "successful", then lists of top sellers are probably relevant. A book doesn't have to be good to be successful.

Read the Wikipedia page regarding the NYTs BSL, it is interesting.  I am sure Hillary’s book was successful by some measures, there are a lot of ways someone can buy their way onto the list which some look as a business investment.

I think I've heard some of that before.

The desperation required to purchase 10,000 copies of your own book...though I guess you can see why someone might do it because of the perks you get for being a "NYT Best Selling Author"

Even people in Trump's inner circle are calling him a moron and an idiot. And they would be right.
