I am a medical student, going to USA for electives. My visa is valid till 30 march 2018. The duration of my elective is specified under annotations on my visa. Now I am planning to give USMLE step 2 CS while I am there after my electives end. Would this annotation effect the length of my stay granted at the port of entry?

It might. Hard for anyone here to say for sure what will happen at entry.

Agree, reasonable to expect duration related to annotation.

If you’re going to take classes in the USA you can’t do it on a tourist visa. You need a student visa.

I wondered about that but if the B visa has been annotated to that effect it’s presumably been cleared by the consulate.
