Lies. The OP is lying and want us to move to his/her town!

Stating that Pittsburgh is a liveable city is NO lie. I (L) Pittsburgh.

But it looks so...industrial. Least it does on TV. I know that sort of thing can be misleading; just look at how Dallas is portrayed in films.:lol::lol::lol:

Everytime I travel, people always want to talk to me about Dallas (I'm live in Houston), but Dallas IS Texas in thier minds.

Really? People in the UK just assume I come from Houston (which they pronounce 'Hoo-ston', not 'Hew-ston') and when I tell them I'm from Dallas, they look disappointed.:lol::lol:

Maybe its just the people who watch the re-runs of the Ewing family adventures in the TV show Dallas?

How did SF and its Siamese triplets San Jose/Sunnyvale get on the list?

Bias. People put SF on lists like that without even thinking about it. I wouldn't even consider living in SF, the cost of living is beyond obscene.

I can remember this exerpt from the (now defunct) Grasmick Forum © 1999 from Nicole Carlson aka "Duckie".

The only places I could find for rental which fitted our budget (with Len being the only breadwinner--I can't work, on TD) were those that Surreyites would consider as rubbish-tips; to really put it in perspective, Surrey is considered the rubbish-tip of Greater Vancouver!

Dallas was such a stupid show, though. I have a bunch of series on DVD and I just laugh my butt off at it; it's so cheesy and overblown. The show started when I was about 3-4 years old and I remember when they'd shut down streets in downtown Dallas to film it; the Dallas you see there is the Dallas of my youth, but it was really NOTHING like that.:lol::lol: Plus most of the actors' accents were so bad.

Put Pittsburgh in Google Image. There's some great pictures of downtown there. The skyline at night is one of the most amazing I've ever seen. You have 3 rivers meeting at one point, and it's just so pretty, even in the light.

I was surprised Pittsburgh was #1, but they've changed the city so much, I can understand it. My other theory is it was all female judges, our Mayor is young and good looking, he'd get my vote!

Sorry there wasn't much info in the original link about other towns, it was silly o'clock and my brain wasn't up to searching for more info!

no Loo..no midwest cities...

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Years ago I did research about moving and I used this book...the city I wanted to move to was VERY highly rated in all aspects. So I schlepped up there for a visit & was being shown around by a realtor when I asked where the nearest Jewish Synagogue was. The answer?

'Is that for them there Jewish folk?'

OK as homesick_american chose the best pic of Dallas and worst of Pittsburgh, I had to show better ones!

There is no sight quite like coming out of the Fort Pitt Tunnel and having the city sprawled out in front of you.

Well cheeky^Wolf, I only did what you told me to, i.e. google Pittsburgh. That's what came out.

And those are in no way the 'best' pics of Dallas. Those are just the first ones I found of the skyline and the pegasus that weren't desktop wallpaper-sized.

:hehe:

I still don't see the attraction to Pittsburgh, but I suppose it would help to live there. Lots of people think Dallas is a dump. They're wrong...#### 'em...but I'm not going to spend the rest of my life trying to persuade them of that. You love Pitt, groovy. I probably never will; I hate snow.
