Hello, I wanted to see if you guys agree.....Once my fiance has the visa in hand, the POE at U.S. doesn't have to be the first destination, correct? In other words her and I can travel to another country......because we are thinking of going to Thailand before heading to the U.S. together. Shouldn't be an issue, right ?

Her K-1 visa only applies when she gets to the US. She can go anywhere she wants BEFORE she gets to the US. After she gets to the US, she can't go anywhere until she's got her Advanced Parole/Green Card. Also, the 90 day "clock" so to speak, starts ticking when she enters the US. So it's not a problem.

Hello beautiful people. I’m Silvia from Costa Rica. My interview was on Monday and the visa was approved. I was wondering if you could help me understand what part of the medicals is needed for the port of entry.

I’ll explain:

When I had the medicals done, I received 3 things: 1) a copy of the vaccines sheet, 2) a sealed manila envelope, 3) a white envelope with a CD labeled as the X-ray (not sealed).

Once at the embassy, in Security they opened the manila envelope and closed it with staples again; and in the first window where they checked my civil documents and affidavit info, the woman opened the envelope again and handed me back only a sheet that was the diagnosis of the X-ray.

They didn’t give me back anything else from the sealed envelope.

What documents do I need that are part of the medicals, at the POE?

Did they keep anything I will need?

The doctor should have given you separate documents to NOT to bring to the interview, but rather for when you do AOS here, and other documents you bring to the interview. The documents you bring to the interview they keep.

I will definitely reach out to them tomorrow NVC first then CSC

it has gotten to the point that I know the details of my NAO2

thank you my second wind will soon begin in earnest

Follow up:

I called both USCIS and the NVC back to back and asked to speak with tier 1 reps as they seem to be privy to more information than the regular reps. I was told initially, by NVC, that even though my NAO@ says that I have been approved from January 19th my file has not reached them as yet and they still have no record of me even filing. When I called the USCIS they told me I wasn't approved!!! Got it escalated to Tier 1 who told me that me that they are conducting further administrative checks and it won't be done until another few days or weeks.

Called the NVC today and they are in receipt of our file but I wont be given a visa number until "another 6-8 weeks"

At least it some type of progress.

What do I do next ?

So the NVC has your file? If so, wait two weeks and call them and see if they have your case number. Recently it hasn’t been taking 6-8 weeks for people to get their case numbers, and it’s generally agreed here that 2 weeks is appropriate to wait to call them.

Thanks! We’re getting really anxious for our interview next week!

I heard that there is a list of specific POE that can be used when they come to the US. Is that true if so where can I find the list of approved POE?
