I've been in Brasil for a week and we leave for Rio in the morning by bus.

Exams begin on Thursday and  medical on Friday.  Interview is Tuesday.

It hasn't stopped raining in Brasil and won't for the next 7 days.  Rio will be hot, humid and wet.

Be aware of what is going on in Rio now with the military securing the favelas.

How you travel within Rio should be a concern....especially at night.

Be safe and good luck to all of us.

How did everything go?!

Stay safe and dry!

Sending you all of my blessings and well wishes!

We just finished with Ana's med exam....we were last party of the day.

We spent more time chatting in the waiting room with another beneficiary.....the the exam.  I think Ana was in with the doctor for 5 min.

Walked out with the embassy envelope and a white folder with exam results, chest xrays, vaccine history and CD disk.

Yep....real easy after running around to the other 3 exams.

If you are not from Rio....you really need a driver.....it made all the difference for us....

@Brasil2USA

What did you pay for each exam? Were the prices given by the forms from the doctor accurate?

We want to make sure we bring enough to cover everything to avoid any issues. lol

God speed to TUESDAY! <3

Really interested in how long it takes for the consulate to issue your visa.

Trying to book our return trips so we're not paying an arm and a leg for a last minute ticket purchase to make sure we're on the same plane.

I can't recall right now, but wasn't there a place you could inform the consulate of your travel plans?

All exams fast and easy.....

Hardest part to to get too and from.

We had a driver (recommended by a friend)....took us everywhere and waited at each appointment.

He will take us to embassy, as well.

Rio has been very hot last 2 days.

Copa...and ipanema....busy....

Enjoy....

Ah okay. Let me ask my fiance. Okay, I just asked him.

Urine: R$ 262.15

X-Ray: R$ 170

Blood: R$ 44

The medical exam was R$600. You have to pay this in cash, because they don't accept cards.

I don't know what the prices quoted by the doctor were, so I can't comment on that, unfortunately.

Thank you! Good luck on the rest of your journey too! We're almost at the end!

I have no idea how long it takes for the consulate the issue the visa, but I'm confident it shouldn't take more than 10-14 days (but don't quote me on that). My fiance has his interview on the 6th, and he booked his flight here for the 24th, so that gives him plenty of time. Of course I will update this after he actually has the visa in his hands!
