Team Brazil TeamRio

Welcome!

After you get your NVC number, track it on the NVC website and fill out the DS160. Once in transit you can try to schedule your interview ( it may take a day or two before the system registers your case number..so dont freak out like i did lol)

After you schedule your interview then you can schedule your medical.

Thats all i know from first hand. lol Others from Team Brazil can chime in :)

Good luck!

Nice, thanks for clarifying 😉 I'll try to keep my anxiety under control 😍

And you just need to schedule your interview with a week window for the doctor consult?

Good luck!

No worries!

Yes, the instructions from the doctor said at minimum 4 days before the interview if I'm remembering correctly. But a week should be perfect.

With our interview being on a Tuesday, I'm not sure how i trust weekend transmissions so we're doing ours the 2 weeks before, just incase. Plus at this point we have nothing but time to kill until the end of March :/ lol

So, My case got approved on Jan 16th, 2018. Then at Jan 31st, we got the case number along with the mail telling us that the case got requested back by USCIS. Now, its Feb 23rd, still playing back and forth game. NVC told me to ask USCIS for more information, USCIS told me that they dunno why the case got sent back and I should speak to NVC. Anyone in the same situation?

you stated, "requested back by USCIS."

What I have read in other cases is, either sent back or requested back, there should be a memorandum stating the reason.  One of those two have it.

You have NOA2 and CASE Number.

Call both agencies every day requesting status until you hack out an answer.  I think it is more effective than an inquiry that plays lip service...telling you to wait 45 days.

Better to be the squeaky wheel....hawk it down.

My fiance scheduled his medical for 4 days before his interview, which like Janay said, is the minimum recommended. I think they allow this because the beneficiary takes their documents with them to the interview, and they don't get sent to the embassy (as far as my fiance told me lol). But obviously, if you have more time between your medical and interview, it alleviates the stress a little bit more.

We are dealing with the US embassy in Greece.  They don't allow scheduling the interview until the packet 3 information is submitted.  And right now, we are panicking about not having Apostille stamps on her Russian birth certificate or police record.  We will find out on Friday, when she goes to the translation office, whether it will take 2 weeks (no stamps required) or 2+ months (stamps required) to translate her documentation.

Well, the verdict is in.  It is not great, but it is better than it could have been.  The stamps are required, but she found a company that can get them in just one month.  So we should be able to complete the packet 3 info by the end of March, and then schedule the interview for sometime in April.  Fingers crossed that nothing gets delayed.

What does it mean exactly when the status changes to "Ready"?

You should be able to yes!

It means that your case arrived at the embassy and you can now send the DS-160 and pay the fee.

This process is stressful enough, I’ll try a bigger window between doctor and interview, since I live in Rio with plenty of time 😂

let me know how it went, I’m curious about the exams.

Do I understand correctly, one copy of my I-134 "Affidavit of Support" will be provided by her at her interview? IOW, I'm not required to have already submitted it online?

Making sure before I get on the plane to Brazil!

So excited for all of us :)

And your updated letter of intention to marry (not sure if that's how we call), the same you did for NOA1, signed by you. Either way I'll follow any answer you get because my fiance need to send me these docs signed and I want to be sure it's only these 2 😁

Good luck!
