haha, yes...not receiving anything is normal.

you really dont need the date the case number was assigned.

just watch status to change to In Transit - took mine 10 days to move out of NVC...once it goes IN TRANSIT - you can begin the DS160 and schedules... you may even be able to do DS160 now and save.

we already did the DS 160 but cant complete entirely due to not being able to schedule yet. however I believe Jorge was able to submit

I actually just got an email after my post about NVC receiving our case and ALSO an approval for some request about an expedite???????  it says that the embassy will contact us to schedule an interview... but our case hasn't been sent yet according to CEAC web and I didn't request an expedite. I DID request someone look into my case when it was "outside normal 2 week number assigning"  -- so now I'm confused. I'm going to assume its still at NVC and will be sent end of this week early next week (we got our number last Thursday- potentially Wednesday)

@Lisa & Jorge  It's normal that you haven't received an email, we didn't receive one till our case status changed to in transit. It's just an email stating that your case has been sent to the embassy and have the beneficiary fill out the ds 160.

I just got this email.... does it mean they are sending my case today to his embassy in Rio ?

I think Jorge is too.... I didn't respond much when I told him BAHAHAHAHA. reality is sinking in. Bless his heart, he is such a family man (surrounded by sisters and nieces and his mother - he does so much for them and loves them tremendously, I know it will be quite a shockeroo when everything sinks in)    THIS IS SO EXCITING !

haha - so did ours!

I assume you have not received "The Letter". I'm about to book my flight, hotel. Do you think we even need it? Medical scheduled for next week, interview is scheduled.

Brazil is taking over the thread! ;) Hehe.

I believe it's been posted before that for some reason all Brazilian ones state the expedite thing.....?

I don't think the embassy is sending a letter - despite the fact that some in the recent past have received one.

We will see if one comes - or if someone here receives it....

Soon i will be irrelevant if not already....

Also @Lisa & Jorge Do it now. You don’t need to wait until it says Ready. Our case just became ‘Ready’ today, but we already scheduled the medical and interview before.

Hmmmm, that’s what happened to my fiancé as well when he tried to book before. In that case, give it a day.
