Hi all! Jan 19 NO2 hard copy received Jan 25.

Does USCIS send the application to NVC the same day they send it to the petitioner? Just trying to gage the mail delivery time lol.

From California it shouldn't take 6 weeks to get a letter to New Hampshire!

They don't actually send it through the mail (which I what I also originally thought). From what I've been told (and seen here) it's electronic.

Even more interesting. A digital file taking 6 weeks to be opened.

GUHHHHHHH this waiting is going to drive me nuts.

I see you're applying through Brazil as well. What would you suggest is the best way to send documents to my fiancee there? He's in RDJ.

I was leaning towards DHL. I just want to make sure it gets there safe, it'll have my SS# on  the documents. Makes me a little nervous.

Yeah, I think it takes so long because of all the pages and documentation they have to scan, and multiply that by the number of people that were approved, and well, you get the idea   I remember people were waiting like 50 days to get their case number, they were really behind at one point. But I think that the wait time is getting shorter. Just in time for us ahahah.

So, about sending documents, I do suggest a carrier like FedEX, DHL, etc. If they offer something like delivery confirmation or registered mail, do it. However, I sent my fiancee the I-134 documents through regular mail, and it got there just fine (he's also in RDJ). Also, have your fiance keep an eye out everyday for the mailman and tell you when the docs show up.

Yay! I read somewhere in the July NOA1 forum that the NVC recently staffed up to accommodate the large volume! Push through NVC!

Great idea. Thanks! I'll send in the mail tomorrow. Do you remember how long did it take for it to arrive?

Rio! Wow! What a small world haha. Will you be traveling there to accompany your fiancee to his interview? I'm still debating, because I'd really like to fly over with him for POE. Just to make sure everything goes smoothly lol.

Everything after NOA2 seems to be making me nervous. We're so close, I don't wan to mess anything up lol.

hmm...I don't remember how long exactly it took to get there , but I want to say about 2-3 weeks.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to go there when he has his interview (but I wish I could so we could come back together!) As it stands, I'll met him at the airport when he gets here. And from what I've heard, interview at the Brazilian Consulate are very easy, but that doesn't make me any less nervous

I think it's because after the NOA2 it's sort of unknown....and there are more things we have to do and now the beneficiaries has things they have to do as well. It's not so much just waiting like it was waiting for the NOA2. I feel that way do, I jus want everything perfect, and I keep reading every piece of information I can about the next steps, what to expect, etc. Good thing we're a part of this community that also knows how we feel lol.

Yes! If it wasn't for this forum I would be going insane!

Is your fiancee taking a copy of the I-129F package you submitted? I read that it was advised, but I hope not a requirement. I didnt make copies before I sent...completely forgot.

No, he isn't bringing a copy of the I-129f, and I don't think you need to. But I did send him some more proof of our relationship (and the I-134 earlier). The rest of the things the Consulate requires the beneficiary has to provide (with the exception of the I-134)

The general consensus is that you should wait at least 14 days before calling the NVC.

Okay friends.  It looks like the NVC pace is picking up.  Is that correct?  We had thought we were going to be in New Zealand until July but that doesn't seem to be likely anymore.  If the NVC portion of this picks up the pace I think we might be looking at an end of March interview at this stage.  That would be sooooo awesome.  I'll keep an eye on this forum to get a feel for how long it's taking but I've got my hope back now!!
