Just an FYI to all the Brazil people in transit to the embassy: My fiance was able to set an interview date already. Our case has been 'in transit' since the 14th, but I saw a post here about some people being able to already schedule interview and medicals, so I urged my fiance to do it. And he could. He has his interview on March 6. Still waiting to get a date for the medical.

Hey so, I called this morning, and although they asked for my and my fiance's name and birthday, they still didn't have a case number for us. Fast forward to 1:17 pm, where I got 2 emails from the NVC

The first one said that that the NVC was going to forward our petition to the Rio Embassy (yay!), and the second one saying that the Rio Embassy approved our request for expedited processing of our immigrant visa application. The second email threw me off because obviously I didn't request it, but I suppose the NVC did, based on the receive date and length of time it was there.

And just to think, this morning when I called I was so dejected at the prospect of having to wait even longer for our case to get entered and to get a case number. These e-mails turned my day around. Guys with the same/similar received date, don't despair! Let them know (if they don't bring it up) that you want your case looked at by a supervisor. When I said I wanted it, that seemed to do the trick. Also call every day!

Now on to the next step (finally!)

Hmmmm I havent recieved any emails from NVC yet. My status still says AT NVC. Should I call and inquire? I’m so excited that waiting is killing me! After 200+ days at USCIS you would think this part would be a breeze. The waiting is actually worse now that we’re so close 😫

They send you an e-mail whenever your case is in transit. If you just got your case number yesterday, I wouldn't call just yet. Maybe give it 5 days (as painful as that sounds ahaha). I think after you get the case number they don't keep it much longer.

Ok. I’ll try to take a deep breath haha.

Monday is a holiday so no work at the NVC  which sucks. I’ll try to wait until next Friday before calling again.

Hahhaha yeah. I don't think it should take more than 5 days to leave the NVC, to be honest.

Does anyone know what packet 3 is and what we have to send back?

They should send you instructions for packet 3.  The information they require you to send back varies by embassy.  It will likely be the beneficiary's birth certificate, the I-134 affidavit of support with supporting information (bank letter, employment letter, pay stubs, tax returns if required, list of deposits), any additional forms that they need signed, and a copy or confirmation form from the DS-160.

I hope I got all that correct.  We followed the instructions from the email that we received from the embassy here.

One thing you'll want to get sorted straight away is your vaccinations.  The medical places really appreciate that being sorted before hand.

Let me know if that answers your question :):):)

Check it out my mates.  Here is how our process went after NOA2 approval.  We got an email from the NVC and Embassy to advise that our information was received and I understand that process varies by country.  Just keep that bit in mind.

* NOA2 received in Mail

* Called NVC two weeks from NOA2 date and they provided us with our case # and our invoice #

* A couple days later we received an email from the Auckland embassy with instructions on what to do next - i.e. what to send back as Packet 3.  This included the medical forms, information on how to obtain a police certificate, some information about my fiance to send back to the embassy, and detailed instructions on how and where to book the medical.  We were instructed to complete the DS-160 and print and send the confirmation part.  Additionally, the email provided instructions on what evidence to include with our affidavit of support which had to be mailed back to the embassy as part of packet 3.

* My fiance had already sorted his vaccinations so he scheduled his medical and got that bit sorted.

* We then got all our required info together and sent packet 3 back to the embassy via overnight mail.

* The embassy received packet 3 and sent my fiance an email to advise of the interview date.

* Our interview was a bit too far out so we have requested an earlier date.  I hope to have a response back from that request on Monday.

WOOO!!!!!

I don't know specifics, but he showed me this when he was done:IMG_6471.thumb.png.56e30246de3f64e5265f1f893069ef6c.png

I can ask him tomorrow specifically what he did, but right now I don't know.
