Nah, its the only thing you can do.

Ours is done, ready to hit submit.

I will be in Campos next week.  We are still in Transit...few days now.

I'm wishing on a little luck that we can go READY in the next few days and we can catch an interview date before March 9.

I have no idea of the embassy schedule but time is closing fast.

Anyway...it's Brasil.

We will wait...rsrsrs

do you think they still have march dates open?

someone here said the status changed in 10 days - some its happened quicker... but it doesn't mean its at the embassy in ten days, just on its way - which is still awesome

I hope so, because I will be in Country.

Now, my girl is reading from people who have just been approved that,

we can do more while it is "in transit" - but it may be hit or miss...

we will go onto the VISA appointment site and register and try to register a VISA appointment -

she is being told by others that we will NOT receive an embassy letter - as some of these confirmation emails are suggesting

I'm not sure how Brasil is working, but we are going to try to get an appointment....

Hey guys, I was wondering something. How long after the beneficiary receives Package 3 from the consulate does he have time to reply?

Would it be ok to send it back only two or three weeks after I receive it? Because I might not be home when they send it to me

@A & C 1 where did you see that you need I-864? On the packet 4 for Montreal it has that listed under immigrant visa but not under k1.

Here: https://ca.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee/appointment-checklist/

It's confusing because most sites say I-134, so I don't think the I864 is mandatory (except it mentions it in the checklist) but because we have a co-sponsor (so they'll scrutinize our income more) and because our lawyer told us to, we are taking both.  They are almost identical, but I'd rather be overly prepared (and it's needed for AOS anyway).

Mine took 5 days to arrive at the consulate and another 9 to be 'ready'.

Don't mean to burst your bubble, but they send that expedited email to all Canada filers.  It just means that Canada is accepting data electronically (fairly new).  That being said, it won't be long now, just keep checking the CEAC status and when it says 'ready', they have received it.

I got my case #, what happened now?

Wait for the status to change to 'ready'.  Then submit DS160 (you don't have to, you can wait for this step and do it with p3, I think).  If you don't have your police report(s), get em.  Get your immunizations updated (or you can wait for your medical).

They will send an email with a link to packet 3 and that's when you can submit p3.  You can go to the consulate website to see p3 (here's a link to the .pdf: https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/07/Packet3Instructions-K1.pdf  and start gathering the appropriate documents.  Several Canadian filers (us included) submitted p3 prior to receiving the email (because our CEAC status said 'ready', but the consulate just ignored it and we had to resubmit).

Then they send you packet 4 and you can pay your fees now or at interview, schedule the interview, and then schedule medical.

Fellow Canadians, if I gave any false or misleading info, please correct me.
