Case received feb 31st

i was supposed to receive a case number today and I just called, she said she sent it to the supervisor but that can take a couple weeks??

how are others getting there case numbers so quickly??

You mean February 1? I will assume that.

I was in the same boat you, January 29 received date, and only today did I get a case number through the e-mail that let us know they were sending my fiance's petition to the Consulate. I don't know what happened, but with a particular date range of cases it really seems they got stuck somewhere, while other later cases were being processed.

I called this morning, and although she asked for my and my fiance's information, she still didn't have a case number. I gently complained to her that it had already been two weeks since the NVC received our case, and there were people getting case numbers before us whose cases came after us. She asked if I wanted to inform a supervisor, and I said yes.

A few hours later, I got the e-mail that said they were sending our cases to the Consulate. SO, my point in all this rambling, is that, in my experience, it didn't take two weeks, as I really think a supervisor did look it over and took care of it within a few hours. So maybe call later tonight or tomorrow, and keep telling them (nicely) it's been two weeks since your case was received.

Need help!

Fiance needs to go back to medical day #2 and they gave her stuff to get.  One I have no clue what it is they're asking for......

Shipping and delivery address confirmation (applicant scheduled by NVC).

What is that?

Hello Everyone,

For anyone whose case was received by NVC in January and has still not received a case number/ invoice number after the 2 week mark, please call every single day.

My docs were received Jan 29th, I called and they told me to wait 2 weeks, I waited and the 2 weeks was up on Feb 12th.

As soon as it hit the 2 week mark this past Monday, I took it upon myself to be a pest! I called 4 times everyday. I got " you should have gotten your case number by now", "we are currently behind", "let me send your case to a supervisor and it might take 6 WEEKS for him/ her to review it".!!!!  I kept up my 7 am, Noon, 3pm and 8pm calls and must have gotten a supervisor referral 4 times.

Ladies and gentlemen, I called last night at 9pm and the nice man on the phone gave me my case and invoice numbers and said they were just created. So, I got my case number after 2 weeks and 2 days of my case getting to the NVC.

Moral of this story/epistle, call them back to back, become a pest, lol. Be very nice on the phone though. This is especially for anyone who has reached the 2 week mark.

Ah okay, even more of a reason to call every day and remind them that it's been two weeks already. Don't forget to mention that other people are getting processed faster, and that you'd like to bring it to the attention of a supervisor.

Depending on the embassy, you can schedule your medical and interview. It would be helpful if you filled out your profile and timeline so we can see where you are from, so you can get more embassy-specific advice.

Did you fiance(e) already schedule medical and interview? If not, they can do it. If so, they need to gather all the documents needed by the specific embassy (hence why I suggested filling out your profile for more complete advice)
