Question about the I-134 form.

My bank (or actually credit union) will not prepare the banking letter for me without a letter from the agency specifically requesting the data.  Plus the letter has to be signed by both me and the agency.  SO....  What should I do instead?  Submit bank statements for the past 3 or 6 months?  I have the letter from my employer already.

My bank said they wouldn't. I stuck around, showing the I-134 instructions and complaining (politely...mostly playing dumb and repeating myself a lot, asking them to download the instructions themselves from the govt website if they needed something official) until the branch manager came and asked what the problem was. He was hesitant, but I repeated the same spiel to him and he ultimately printed the deposit statements which he then stamped and signed each page.

So far, I have been emailing the bank.  Initially, they said they would do it, but then they changed their story, and now they said they can't do it.

I will go to the branch office tomorrow, and see if I can convince (politely) the branch office to help me.

Thank you.

For those who already have a case # generated from NVC, how did you get notified? email?

It was e-mail for me. I called them (this morning actually) and got nothing, but a few hours later I got an e-mail. But this is not typical. Most people call until the NVC gives them a case number.

Ok I see. I will wait until the end of the week then start calling. My case was approved on 2/9 so not too long ago.

I just had the bank print out the deposit summary for me and stamp the pages. The instructions don't mention anything about it being signed. Am I missing something?

I don't know for sure, but it says "Statement from an officer of the bank or other financial institutions".  So I assumed that it needed to be signed.  But ultimately, I guess it is up to the local embassy officer to accept it or not.

Oh yeah, I would even recommend waiting at least until next week, Monday perhaps. The NVC is moving quickly, but not as lighting fast as people would have you think.

When I said wouldn't I meant they said they couldn't legally do it.  The branch manager eventually figured out something he could do legally which was printing out a deposit record for the past year and stamping/signing each page.  Either that or I was so annoying he broke the law
