I got it now. The only thing I am waiting for is my tax return from 2017, however I have my tax filings from H&R Block.

I think it's better to be prepared and start to gather your documents. :)

Right; I am just not sure if they'll need the evidence to be closer to the time of interview to be more relevant.

I did not read anything about when the documents had to be from. The I-134 is filled out but not signed, dated or with dollar amounts. The tax returns can be ordered at any time, the IRS isn't going to change the amounts once it's issued. My employment letter is from my family business, so I guess I lucked out there.

I don't know IF they care when it's from, as long as it's remotely relevant, dated after the NOA2 and in the packet.

medical booked and case is received at london!! woohoo :)  gonna fill out the DS160 tomorrow then book my interview. how long is everyone leaving between medical and interview?? im thinking 3 full weeks

It says to wait 5 business days, but seeing as you're not in a rush then 3 weeks would be fine.

My case still says 'at NVC' why is it just sitting there? Send it on its way please NVC

guys I haven't been on for a day bc I can only access the site at work and I stayed home yesterday but here is a heads up.

NVC call center told me Monday night that since it was 2 weeks I should have a number by end up day that day or they could escalate my case. when I called yesterday morning they told me a request could be made for a supervisor to review but could take up to SIX WEEKS for them to do so..... when I ask each rep  about why people with cases received after mine at NVC are getting numbers BEFORE me, they continue to say well its because they were waiting longer ( so they clearly aren't listening to what I'm saying)  when they actually decide to hear what I am saying they just say they either don't know how it works or that they are unaware of the situation.   just so those of you who are end of jannies with recvd date at NVC, here is a heads up that we are probably in the same boat... I don't understand it.

hello everyone!

I’m wondering how much time it takes from leaving NVC to reaching the Embassy? Ours is going to South Africa, Johannesburg. We got our case # on the 8th of feb and it left the NVC on the 9th. So, normally, how many days until our status is “ready”?

@Lisa & Jorge is your file also being put in electronicly? Do you think that's what's slowing us down?.. It's been 2 weeks for us as of today and I'm getting my fiance to call later tonight.

I thought that was how cases were being processed now a days. How are the cases after ours being process then? (Not trying to be snarky, genuinely asking). If people after us are getting their cases received by the NVC and getting a case number so quickly, I'd like to know how their cases are getting processed. This process is so annoying.

I really want to know what's holding up our cases. What happened at the end of January that made all of our cases get sucked into (a seemingly) black hole? I guess that black hole opened up in February based on the speed of other people getting their case numbers... <_<

Also, I called just now as well, still NO CASE NUMBER. She mentioned telling a supervisor about my case, and I told her yes, and that there were also people getting their cases to the NVC and getting case numbers AFTER us. I didn't expect her to say anything about it, I just wanted to bring it to her attention/complain about it haha.

I have definitely brought it to the attention of every rep I talked to.  And they don't seem to care. I think if you and others in our position continue to bring it to their attention, they may look into the situation. because again, it doesn't make sense. two weeks isn't a bad wait unless the people coming in two weeks after you are also getting their case numbers within 1-5 days.....

If I were you I would call every day like me and make sure to tell the rep that you speak to your concern.  I may call 2 times daily from here on out . Idk, it depends on my mood.  I keep getting Emma and she hates me. even though I'm polite, she stays with an attitude.  ugh

@Brasil2USA I think some are still being sent by snail mail. Maybe it depends what embassy you're sent to that determines if your case is being sent electronicly or not? I don't know I'm just guessing.

no the cases have been received since January 29th.... what brasil is referring to is that our cases have been sitting there longer waiting for a number while more recent cases (which seems the majority) that come in after ours are getting numbers assigned as quickly as the same day.

I was wondering more about how they get case numbers so quickly after us. It would be a dream if we were waiting for our cases to go to the Embassy.

Haha, I just had a (heated) discussion with my fiance about it, and I resolved to stop calling. But reading this, I'll keep calling, even though it just makes me annoyed and angry.  I'm glad I get different people each time, I get paranoid when I call twice a day and I think I've got the same person. I'll even call later tonight.
