I called on a Friday and was told no number and can take 2 weeks.  I called back that evening, a few hours later and they had the number assigned.

I called every day about 6pm...I called until they issued.

We got our case number assigned Friday or early Monday morning (after the request), but the tracker still shows AT NVC 😳 Seems we're stuck again.

And I've already scheduled medicals for me and the kids (they demand the embassy number only when we're there for the tests), and plan to fill in the DS-160 forms this weekend and pay the fees on Monday. 

Now I really don't know what to do - to wait for the IN TRANSIT or READY status at least or to go on with the forms and the medicals.

 

Any suggestions guys? 🙏😳🙏

right, I understand. buy @vocaledge was assigned and given one over the phone when he called weeks ago..(the rep said she could assign it for him while he was on the phone) .so regardless, they are giving people NVC numbers in much shorter times than two weeks ( I'm not complaining) just wondering what the reasons are that some get it quicker than others because its clearly happening.    I came with facts and she just kept denying them and she just wanted to argue with me (mind you I was VERY soft spoken and polite - I'm letting out my frustration here bc I couldn't with her.. but she immediately had an attitude with me and seemed inconvenienced that I was even asking about it) her name was hope and I'm sure she is the overseer of a bunch of them .

I just want you to know that you're not alone in your frustration! I see people with later dates getting their case numbers a week later, etc, and it's really disheartening. It'll be two weeks Monday since NVC received my case.

me too - we are same date... maybe something screwy happened with the cases that were recvd on the 29th??????   they got dumped in the wrong query and those workers are taking their time.... I just wish there was a better process. that there was some order and regulation to it all. I know they don't care or think of it because after all we are just a number in a world of how many billion people.... but still....  I seriously have to put my trust in God's Perfection - His timing is always for reasons higher than we understand. its true, Jorge and I have had time to grow closer while we wait... and I mean, I sure am happy that his arrival will be in nice PA weather as opposed to the frigid cold.... so..... I try to remain positive and look at things from different angles but when you see other people jumping in line ahead (not by their doing of course)  its a TAD frustrating......   :-)

Yes, I noticed that there's a cadre of us with similar NVC received dates that are still waiting. Whereas people with later received dated already have case numbers. Maybe some kind of hiccup that they resolved?? I don't know, but like you, it's just all about believing and trusting-- even in a system such as this one haha.

Ive called twice a day for a week. Case received on January 31st! Just waiting for my case # she said to call later or next week!!! Whats the  wait time been lately for a case number?

truly depends on the case.. anywhere from same day to over two weeks  - its a ####### shoot

My fiancé called the NVC half an hour ago to check if the info on the website tracker was correct and our case was still AT NVC as it said, but the lady that picked up the phone said their system was down to repair 😳

Let's hope they fix it by Monday 🙏

My fiancée just called and the guy said they didn't receive our case yet (02/02 NOA2 according to the USCIS case tracker)

 

We're probably gonna call again on Monday or Tuesday
